Title: Its official.....

Chester City enter administration.

Do they just lose 10 points or get relegated further as per Boston?

It's been on the cards for a while.
They are in serious danger of relegation next season.

Apparently it was done to safeguard the clubs future. If they spend a season or two in the BSN that wouldn't be the case!!

good to see comments about the football league making the rules up as they go along.  the conference have been doing that for years & it is not good enough.

docking clubs points is not the only answer, it leads to compllications, nonsense leagues like division 2 last season and confusion.

Far better to impose long term transfer restrictions on clubs, and have more control over who buys clubs.  Also clubs that have been in admin MUST show their books every three months to auditors, failure to do brings further sanctions (suspensions from some of the piddly cups and then the bigger cups, removal of voting rights at AGMs etc) with the ultimate sanction being expulsion from the league.

The rules are fairly clear on what happens to clubs who go into administration. I may not agree with them, but that's a different point.

I believe that clubs do have transfer restrictions if they owe money to other clubs (hence Northwich earlier this season when they didn't pay Charlton for two loan players).

All clubs were supposed to provide their accounts to the conference to show no debts were outstanding. It didn't seem to work though judging by Vics and Weymouth!
