This is a message for the club or those 'in the know' in & around the club...
After the worrying scenes at last night's Euros game involving Denmark, & relating to Christian Eriksen, can the club confirm that we have a defribrillator at Moss Lane in case of similar emergencies (plus medical staff trained on how to use one)?
Also a shout out to applaud local lad Anthony Taylor who was the referee last night... he stopped the game within 5 seconds to get the correct medical protocols underway that will have contributed to hopefully saving Eriksen's life!
We wish Eriksen a speedy & full recovery... 🙏

A modern defrib requires no training as there are voice commands issued by the machine. Literally any member of the public can use one.
Excellent question and should be high up in the shopping list if we don't have one. In fact it should be a league requirement.

Pretty sure we have 2 in the Club.
One, I know, used to be on the bench during first team fixtures and another, I believe in the CSH

There's a piece in praise of Anthony on the club's website now.

Lovely for Anthony to be recognised and I hope Eriksen has a speedy and full recovery.
Of course Altrincham has some fame for its defibrillators: https://www.messengernewspapers.co.uk/news/15230761.worlds-first-solar-powered-defib-inside-bin-installed-in-john-leigh-park-altrincham/

Great to hear that the club apparently has two defibrillators... hope they never need to be used (bar tests), but great to know we have at least one for such emergencies.
-
As well as the club, Altrincham FC Juniors has a defibrillator available at all home venues, such as Long Hey.
All managers and coaches have been and passed the FA emergency aid course which includes CPR training and use of a defibrillator.

No comment on a family friendly forum such as this.

Didn't we have some kind of fundraiser for defibrillators years ago? I may have imagined this, but good to hear that the club has two anyway!

I think I saw Fisayo getting jump started in one of those twitter pics.

Great to read the following articles from last few days after Anthony Taylor talked about this topic at Alty...

Glad we're ensuring the safety of players/everyone at the club with these defibrillators... well done Alty...

Did it work?
But seriously folk, it is great to see Alty at the forefront of this.

We did, was first "fund-raiser" with a special shirt, that was auctioned after the game, have'nt got a photo, but was a red/black shirt with special embroidery under the badge. If I remember rightly, Duncan Whatmore played i the game.

Great to know the club has these
I know a lady near Warrington who works in a business that rents out Defibrillators.
So saving time & the need to raising thousands of pounds up front to buy one outright.
Happy to pass on her details should that be of benefit to anyone.
