Attendance 190

Is that the worst ever conference attendance????

I know its cold, but bloody hell 190 is awful.

In a word, no.

I believe that this one still holds that particular 'honour':

10th December 1983
Gateshead v Trowbridge Town
Attendance: 121.

Also played on a freezing cold night on the run in to Xmas. I'm not getting into the winter shutdown argument, but..................

190 for a crucial game? Jesus Christ.

If we make the reasonable assumption that there were a fair number of ST holders (let's say 80) and a few from Eastbourne (perhaps a dozen), then they'll probably have taken about £1,000 on this game. How in the blue hell they're able to survive on that I'll never know.

I presume the answer is that H&Y have sold Church Road, Hayes for development - they will in due course move to The Warren, Yeading - and will therefore be living off that money.

Really? How many would you think they have? I believe we have a couple of hundred. I'd have though 80 was a reasonable estimate.

As it turns out, there were an estimated 35 Eastbourne fans. That means a pitiful home turnout of 155.
