Meanwhile, the visiting fans really are doing their club proud. The Halifax fans have remarked on more than one occasion how noisy their counterparts are. And so they should, they've really been put to shame.

whats new alty outsinging the home crowd everywhere we go we must have the best set of (singing) fans in the league/world ;D ;D

Just heard Paul Merson absolutley board to tears watching Macc against Leeds - very funny.

Sounds like our fans are doing us proud at the Shay - well done lads

"We have an exclusive at Sky Sports News - - - - at Macclesfield something has happened!"  turns out there was a decent shot from Leeds - they should be watching Alty!

Hang on, something happened!

Vics 3-3 Drylesden - sound an entertaining match. Send Merson there or, even better, to Halifax

"Aside from the early slips though, they've done their job well. The Robins are looking solid at the back and just need to use the ball better in the final third to properly test their hosts."

67 mins - A surprising change as Heathcote brings on Cavell Coo for Senior. Even more puzzling, the former Crewe defender heads straight up front!

I know he played there in his junior days but what will he offer in the Blue Square Premier? It remains to be seen.

65 mins - Defences still on top and there are very few clear cut chances right now. Alty almost got away when Aspinall played in Little down the left flank. The striker jinked his way into space and got in a cross but it was easily cleared.

Halifax are being pretty reckless in possession though and are really not doing themselves any favours playing the ball across the back four under pressure from the Alty forwards.

Another slip could decide this game.

Coo up front - maybe the idea is to put pressure on their defense when they have possession to try and force another slip at the back?

Senior injured, tired or being marked out of the game? Or Coo to try to cause a defensive error?

well he has a proven record as a striker, i think it was him that hit a 60 goal junior season which is pretty impressive hope the lad does well

GH seems to have a lot of faith in him. And he rarely gets these things wrong.

Meanwhle: "Halifax have started to play with a bit more purpose and have slung a couple of meaningful balls into the box.

One drew an absolutely sensational save from Coburn, the Alty keeper denying Campbell at point blank range after Killeen had flicked on Torpey's cross.
An absolute match-winner from England's number one."
