Paul Ellender was awesome....I'm sure he would be a great signing and would create a buzz about the new season....a quality centre half, a barn storming midfielder and the perfect person to throw up front with 5 minutes to go and 1-0 down...cetainly one of my favourite Alty players ...and definetly the class act of our promotion season....physically even at the old age of 31 he'd be up for the rigours of the conference....he'd be a good signing.

But not half as much as a left back, a winger and a Marcus Hallows type striker....but they apparently don't exist.

He'll probably go to macc or maybe northwich!?

OK OK OK.

Ellender was a fantastic player for us but logic says he would want to stay full time.  He'll also be looking for a decent pay packet - he's not been paid for a few months (or was it weeks?)...anyway like th rest of us he's got a mortgage and bills to pay.

Yes it's be great to have him back...but unless Mr. Goodwin breaks all the finance rules that have worked wonders for our club it won't happen.

Are we having a laugh on here? With the recent clamour to bring a "fit" Pottsy back, how can anyone suggest that Ellender would be a retrograde step?

I know that positionally, they are different players completely but, to me, the difference doesnt end there.

I would set up a Potts v Ellender POLL if it wouldnt be such a landslide.

the fact is ellender's wage would be double that of potts i'd like to see them both back but ellender sadly would want too much potts wouldn't

For a number of reasons, I doubt whether Paul Ellender would be the right signing for the club or the player at this point.......BUT.......THIS GUY WAS ONE OF THE TRULY GREAT ALTY CENTRAL DEFENDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
