It won’t have Notts county in it. Suffered the same fate as Wrexham at home to Maidstone, 2-2 and penalties defeat
Aldershot
Altrincham
Banbury/Coalville
Barnet
Bracknell
Dorking
Eastleigh
Farsley
Gateshead
Harrow/Halifax
Hungerford
Maidenhead
Maidstone
Southend
Torquay/Taunton
York
-
Let’s hope we can make the most of it, there are a lot of big teams out of it now
-
If we can keep getting home draws, perhaps this could be our year? 👍🏆 (🤞) 😉
PS. Hungerford (H) in the next round?
-
Exactly, a lower ranked team at home would be perfect.
-
Yes. You watch though, knowing our luck, we'll probably get Barnet, Southend or Gateshead away!
PS. I know, typical glass-half-empty attitude! 😂😂

Not so sure , they'll have a hunger for de trophy 😔

Dear oh dear, Pete! 🤭😄

Every side on that list shouldn’t hold any fears for us. Very much up for grabs. Luck of the draw & some non cup-tied reinforcements in attacking areas will be the key. For me this should now become our priority for the remainder of the season.

I’d prioritise staying in this league before this cup, surely?

Of course but I feel the points we’ve accrued over the past 2 months mean that should be a formality from here.
-
I'm not sure this is like 1991, I suspect a Trophy run could work in our favour and give everyone a lift. And besides, if we're good enough to win a couple of FAT matches, we're good enough to stay up. Looking at the table, we would have to do very badly now to go down.
-
I’d like to think so, but 11 points off the relegation zone after we’ve lost Newby, Colclough and possibly CCC by the end of the month, still plays on my mind. Reinforcement’s required and at least 12 more points should see us over the line.
-
As long as we have Lundstram and Marriott in midfield, we shouldn't flirt with any kind of danger this season.
Wouldn't have minded Notts scraping through - clearly they're not prioritising it and I doubt the next round is advanced enough for them to change their approach. Would have brought a lot of fans through the gate.
-
It's good just to be involved!

Exactly this but I still feel 50 points is the safety target 🎯

It will inevitably be Gateshead away.
Mind you, Dinanga is prolific against them...

Lucky 7 at home to 14! 🤞
-
Anyone at home.
If we were in Conf North or even national, youd be wanting to avoid the 'likely safe but not playoff sides'
-
No 12 at home will do me
-
It it's York will we be able to get Tom Peers back?
-
Bracknell away
Happy with that. Should be able to get to that one
-
Off to the Home Counties
Bracknell
-
What league are they in?
-
Southern League Premier South (Step 3)
Promoted last year - on edge of playoffs.
-
What league are they in?
Southern prem
-
Robins 'Derby'!
Won't be as easy as some might think as they're on a bit of a roll but it could have been a lot worse and we must be favourites?
-
Did well in the FA Cup too this season.
Also nicknamed the Robins.
Recently moved to Bottom Meadow, to groundshare with Sandhurst FC - as there is a 3G pitch and lots of development potential.
Sounds like quite an ambitious project - and a real banana skin in my opinion...
-
5 conference side definitely out for the next round
-
We field a strong team and we should progress to the next round with just over 6k in the bank
-
They don’t play in Bracknell. They’ve recently moved grounds. Nearest station is sandhurst. If going by train manc - reading then reading - Sandhurst
-
I think we should be concentrating on the Cheshire Senior Cup. Thriving
If we're playing Macc in the final will it be all ticket - and would this be a first for the CSC? It strikes me that in this scenario there might be a bit more demand than usual and possibly a few rum coves turning up, plus Wincham Park isn't particularly big.
I must say I would enjoy a CSC/FAT double!
-
We will surely be at full strength and give Bracknell our absolute respect. Having PP and NS who have cut their teeth at a similar level will only help stop any complacency from creeping in. Confident although their pitch looks poor.
-
Is the Sandhurst pitch grass or plastic? They converted their old ground to 3G by the look of it and use that for training and youth set up In Bracknell but first team don’t play there
-
Beaten x3 mid-table ish Conference South sides to get this far so clearly no mugs & a club on the up & seem to score a lot too. But…lowest ranked side left in it & so many sides from our league drawn against each other. It’s a golden opportunity.
-
Pity not home draw, 194 miles from Alty, 3 hours 20 minutes in car. Doable.
Come on Alty.
-
is this the team beginning with B that we won at on BT Sport under Lee Sinnott?

That was Bromley I think. Bracknell have never been in the GMVC.

Farsley v Hungerford is intriguing if we get through.
Big if.

I think it might have been Braintree. To many teams in the south beginning with B if you ask me.

No, as Mad Frankie said, it was definitely Bromley:

I was confusing them with Brackley Town! 😂

It's grass. I suspect I am the only person on this board (though happy to be corrected, of course) who has seen Bracknell Town play at Bottom Meadow, Sandhurst, as I stayed over between Bromley and Maidenhead at the start of this season, and saw Bracknell beat Harrow Borough 4-1 on the Monday night in front of 392.
They won 4-1, and should have been won by more. They would have beaten us in August, I am confident to say, but since then, Bracknell have lost their manager to Weymouth, and their star player, Seb Bowerman to Dorking Wanderers (he was Dorking's best player against us, if I recall correctly). With our improved form since then, I would think we are favourites now.
Nonetheless, they are having a superb season in their first ever season as high as Step 3, can reach the playoffs if they do well in their games in hand, and have had their best ever run in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy, so we definitely do not want to be resting players for this match.
Other things I remember are that they offered a discount if you bought an eticket in advance (not sure if that will apply in the FA Trophy) and the tree-lined ground is in a public park, although obviously enclosed. There is not much elevation inside the ground, nor much standing cover, although there are plenty of seats, and it had what looked like a very plush clubhouse, although I didn't investigate that too much. It's not too far from Sandhurst station either, just the other side of the town centre, in what's quite a small town. There didn't seem to be any obvious means of segregation, and I believe they didn't segregate for the Ipswich match, which attracted a capacity 1950.
Although their rise through the leagues is a good story, I think it has caused some upset in the area. They spent a lot of money converting Larges Lane in Bracknell to have a 3g pitch, while they shared with Sandhurst, but then moved to Sandhurst permanently in 2021, taking over the ground, and painting it black, to make it clear it was no longer Sandhurst Town's, although they still remain there as secondary tenants (the Robins of Bracknell wear red and black). One benefit from playing in February is that it should be light at the end of the game, and you won't have to walk across the park in the dark as I had to, following a midweek game in August.
I am looking forward to this game; little did I imagine I would be returning so soon after visiting earlier this season!

I'd forgotten there were that many goals. I do remember the BT people being flummoxed by the Alty win as they didn't appear to have a script ready for that eventuality.
-
Just 3 things:
1) Strongest team
2) Concentration
3) NO complacency!

I'm sure we'd be ok if we tick all those boxes. When Trafford dumped us out of the FA cup we probably didn't tick any.

Can't see the scrotes paying out on wheels so I can't see why it should be segregated.

What about their 'scrotes'?

Appreciate they will want to maximise revenue from the game but they usually charge a fiver and it's £15 when we come to town.
-
Bit of a price hike, I wonder if they put that down to Global warming or the Ukraine conflict.
-
Don't we get 50%?

Yes, we do.

I just double-checked and they definitely charged £10 this season, and that was after advance discount had been applied.

They charged £25 for Ipswich in the FA Cup.

Could be wrong but isnt it usually midway between the 2 clubs average price.
-
They’re charging £5 adults for their upcoming home game against Newport Pagnell.
-
The Newport Pagnell game is in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup - our equivalent of CSC.
-
Ah, makes more sense then!
