From the vics site

A MOMENT of Alty magic piled on the misery for woeful Vics.

Former Northwich man Greg Young grabbed the winner on 72 minutes, gleefully applying the finishing touch to a brilliant set piece routine.

Matt Doughty's clever chip sent Chris Senior sprinting into space down the right, his cross picking out stopper Young.

It was no less than the visitors deserved.

They were even afforded the luxury of missing a first half penalty, Colin Little's feeble spot kick an easy stop for Scott Tynan.

Vics did not force Stuart Coburn into a meaningful save all afternoon, their best effort a Darryn Stamp snapshot that was straight at the Robins' number one.

Absolutely brilliant!!

Great result in so many ways. I'd settle for a point in the return leg at Moss Lane but if it's that one sided then it could easily be another three points to start the new year in style.

Hope the trip to York doesn't take too much out of them.

Come on Alty!!!

Well done on 3 points which were deserved for you, Alty dominated the midfeild and did something that vics didn't do, create chances

If it wasn't for our keeper it could of been a whole lot more

Well hopfully we can offer more of a game come new year's day

Cya all there  :)

Will the Vics be going for broke on NYD?
