Praying Hannigan and Moult are fit to play. Would be a massive plus if Harrop and/or Williams are available.
Alty 2-0 Guiseley. Hulme, Johnson
-
Feel like I've seen us draw a lot v Guiseley. Hoping to sneak another win though. Will be tight, 2-1
-
Guiseley have had a great run lately, and are proving very difficult to beat.
On the other hand this one is a genuine 6 pointer for us - win this and we leap up the table with most immediate rivals playing in the trophy.
I think it will be tough going but I fancy us we will win a very hard battle 2 1 - Hulme needs to get a goal so I hope/think he will score, then, confidence restored, score again - attendance 1243 - about 120 from Guiseley who take more away than they used to
Big match for us needs a big match atmosphere - one to tell your casual supporter friends and family to turn up for and make some noise!!
Come on Alty!
-
Tough one this, they have one of the best away records in the division with 5 wins and 3 draws from their 12 away games thus far and they haven’t lost on the road since mid-October at Telford plus games against them home or away going back 20 years now are invariably tight affairs.
Feel it’s vital with Spenny & the Heed away next week that we win this one to keep our momentum going before an epic week of travelling up to the NE. Interesting to note Parky in his post Blyth interview, said Guiseley were his most improved side in the division this season too so he’s clearly expecting a really hard match.
That said we generally win at home these days & again Guiseley are a side who will finish below us in April so I expect us to edge it 2-0 with 1306 in attendance.
Looking forward to attending this one too, tried the new online ticketing and it was pretty straightforward so glad the club have moved that forward.

Isn't Harrop starting a three match ban ?

Harrop is out , suspended.
Willow did the warm up on Tuesday. I would think he will be in the squad.

Going to be a good game this a team with a fantastic away record against a Team with a fantastic Home record.
My head says Home Win 2-1 with a last minute winner
Attendance 1450.

Looks like a tricky one on paper. They are unbeaten for five games on the road including wins at York, Farsley and Gateshead. However, Curzon had a reasonable run of results before we played them and had recent wins against York and Chester to their credit. Leamington were four unbeaten at home. We beat both of them a lot easier then the narrow scorelines suggest.

I want to see a good game above all. I give us a slight edge. Prediction - 3:2
-
I predict a tight match and 1-1 draw.
-
Well done.
Very even overall although different tactics. Second half Guiseley didn't seem to know if they wanted to settle for the draw or go for the win. Apart from their fouling and moaning they looked pretty good. Both sides had chances to win. First half they seem to step up a gear once Alty had their two forced substitutions. Second half some of their players were looking tired. The fat number 5 captain was definitely conceding defeat in his wrestling match with Jordan Hulme. Their keeper kept them in it although a lot of things did seem to plop straight into his gloves. Good save from the penalty. And I wasn't convinced it was a penalty anyway. I'm sure someone with a different/better view will put me right.

Only 12 out on the attendance - good call !

Too much disruption to our team today. Disappointed not to get the win but I'll settle for a draw.
Hopefully Simon's hamstring will recover quickly as will Tom's back issue

Shame my score prediction wasn't close too! :(

I predict a tight match and 1-1 draw.
Ahem ;) :o
-
That was the easiest draw in the world to predict and yet I still didn't put any money on it. Sigh.
-
1200 felt like a good crowd today. Even when everyone spread put second half you felt like there was a good number all four sides of the ground.
-
Why did we attack the Golf Road in the first half?

Why did we attack the Golf Road in the first half?
Did we win or lose the toss.?........who kicked off ?
Got the impression they won the toss and decided to kick towards the chequers end

We kicked off, and Jake knocked it back.

Ahem from me too- I was 1 out on the attendance!

I wasn't present at yesterday's game and, consequently, didn't witness the following incident but this chance looks virtually impossible not to bury in the back of the net.
What happened? Were there echoes of Danny McGoona's infamous miss at Stalybridge Celtic back in March 1997?!

That photo give no impression of the speed involved. JJ's sprinting into the 6 yard box to try and meet a cross coming in at some pace. It was more like Gazza's miss against Germany than the McGoona one you mention.
And you haven't half missed a lot of good football with your self-imposed exile.

It was offside anyway so thankfully didn’t matter.

I'm delighted that Phil Parkinson has got Alty playing such progressive and entertaining football, however the reason for my exile from home fixtures persists (although there is now the prospect of that being erased by the end of this season, following the chairman's statement at the last AGM).
I look forward immensely to returning to my main stand seat next season.

I had to stop the car at least twice on the way home from that. Anger needed venting.

Tough one for JJ; it wasn't half fizzed at him. My immediate reaction was that I wish it had been played in softer, rather than that I wish he'd finished it.
I was actually more annoyed at 1-0 when JJ cut inside on the left, was inside the box, and for whatever reason didn't pull the trigger like he often does.
Was the penalty as poor as it seemed from well inside the stand? Looked quite central and easy for the goalkeeper.
-
The penalty was dreadful. His penalty at Pompey was also dreadful, but he got lucky. I think we may need to look elsewhere for our penalty taker.

Willo took them for Warrington, maybe he should be put on them
-
Get Williams on them.
-
We've been bloody awful at them for years haven't we - I distinctly remember Reevesy couldn't take them either.
-
Colin Little was also not great at pens. I always like a defender who smashes them hard, remember Dennis Irwin used to take them for United.
-
Willo has only taken one for us, and missed it against Farsley. Not sure what the answer is, not seen Jordan take one yet....worth a try?

Be interesting for the stats on that one...……..I do not recall Colin missing many, albeit I think he missed one on his last game for the club
-

TT should take them...….if the keeper got a touch he would be in the back of the net with the ball

But can her run fast enough back to goal if keeper saves it ;D ;D ;D

I recall seeing Colin Little miss a penalty in a league fixture at Northwich Victoria on Boxing Day 2008. Fortunately, Greg Young popped up with the only goal of the game in the second half.
He did, indeed, miss a penalty at the Golf Road End against Cambridge United on the occasion of his last Alty appearance on 24th April 2010.

We've been bloody awful at them for years haven't we - I distinctly remember Reevesy couldn't take them either.
The worst season that I can recollect for the recurring phenomenon of Alty missing penalties comprised the 2012/13 Blue Square Bet North campaign.
Of the total of 16 spot kicks that Alty were awarded during that particular season, we somehow contrived to miss 10 of them.
The culprits were as follows:
Damian Reeves: six;
Matt Doughty: two;
Shaun Densmore: one;
Ryan Brooke: one.
