It now looks from the main website that we won't be seeing any more of Steve Foster
as he wants to be fully committed to Salford City.

Fair play for his commitment to Salford.

However I am gutted, this guy showed some flair and I do believe from the glimpses we saw of him he has the capability to play much higer up the pyramid.

On the one hand I totally agree that his commitment to Salford shows he has loyalty and a fine attitude. However, it still troubles me slightly that someone with a clear talent for scoring goals does not wish to prove himself at a much higher level. With all due respect, he's not getting any younger and I would have thought he would jump at the chance.

Nevertheless, good luck to him and Salford.

This whole business with him as been really strange. Seems a lot of people's time has been wasted.

I'm not having all this about 'good on him for his commitment', he has given up a chance to play in a national league and see if he can fulfil his potential.

Have fun playing in front of crowds of 100 Steve. I've nothing against Salford, but this is ridiculous.

What a shame he was too afraid to make the step up.

The lads obviously got no bottle.

Better to have tried and failed than to have never tried at all.

He is in his comfort zone at Salford.

Shame for both us really..he obviously still has potential.

This whole saga has been rather strange. If the lad is happy at Salford then good luck to him

Im just glad that King Kenny didnt offer 40 million for him.  ;)

At least Foz is fit which is more than can be said for Carrol just now

I agree. Liam Brownhill all over again. Perhaps even worse in this case because he's getting to an age where he'll never get such a good opportunity again.

The more I think about this, how frustrating must it be for Kenny and Bimmo trying to attract players to this club?

What a kick in the teeth, to have found a potentially lethal striker only to find he isn't willing to make the step up.

I'd like to think this is like most other transfers - ie. Say one thing - and do the opposite 3.months later :)

We don't know Steve Foster's personal circumstances do we?

It may well be that his domestic situation and/or work situation played a significant part in the decision

It may equally be the case that things are as a number of you have described them

We just don't know

suggest the club moves on.  there are other people out there, our attention must turn to getting them in the red & white stripes.

A statement I would expect to hear from the player at the moment, esp if Alty have not approached properly for him ? He would not want to burn any bridges before an offer being made maybe ?

I obviously don't know the situation between us, Salford and the player but I would imagine his best plan at the moment is to 'suck up' to the club he is at. Keep the fans happy who will be seeing more of him and then maybe take it from there ?

I CAN HOPE   ;)

Maybe the fact that he can only turn out for us twice is a bit pointless to him right now. Playing 2 games a week and training and working full time might not appeal that much.

Let's not jump the gun. He might come in the summer after finishing his commitment to Salford.

Having said that he might not want to come to alty. Heaven forbid somebody didn't want to play for alty!
