Thanks for the memories, the signed match poster and kind words about the posters.

Gutted at you leaving us, but a lot of travelling. More gutted that when Lawton left.

Huge thanks for your superb season with the Robins and every one of those 32 goals.

In particular, that late winning strike at home to Leamington will live long in the memory.

Anyhow, if things don't work out, there will always be a place for you at the J Davidson Stadium inside the Rocky Robin costume.

It's been a pleasure to watch you and no one can complain at you putting your family first. I just hope we don't draw your new club in the cup or trophy! All the best

Hi James

Thanks for having the good heart to come on and send us a message which was heartfelt and I am sure, involved much soul searching.

I have seen you with your little lad in the bar after the game. He looks a happy little chap but please bear in mind I know exactly how you feel. My lads were with me at the game and as I look at both of them who are now 22 and 19 respectively I wonder where all the years have gone. I was able to spend much time with them as a junior soccer manager at Unicorn Athletic so I have been with them constantly thoughout their childhood but they are grown up now and very soon they will both be leaving. Our house will just have Carys from Chester and myself Steve from Sale rattling around and saying how nice the peas are. (John and Norma Major - AKA Spitting image). The saying they grow up fast has already been recognised by yourself and only confirms to me what a good father you will be/have been.

I think you are making the right decision, but myself and all my fellow fans will miss seeing you with a smile on your face and your devasting finishing - you have been superb, formed a great partnership with Damien and you are both already Alty legends. I have enjoyed your goals as well and you are a great striker.

James, whatever you do in the future, thank you so much for the memories, and I wish you and all your family, in particular the cute little lad of yours, nothing but success in the future.

Thanks so much for caring about us to send the message.

Fondest regards

Yep, I'm gutted as well, James indicated to me on Sat that he was staying. I reckon once the enormity of travel and time required for prem level sank in and family discussions from this achievement may have taken place. Thanks for posting James, best of luck for the future, and part of Alty's historic season!

no no...thank you.....for all the goals and assists....we would not have won promotion without you.

Best wishes for the future......I'm afraid you have written yourself into alty folklore and will be talked about for years to come........your son has a legend for a Dad!

It's been an absolute pleasure having you at Alty, even though your stay was comparatively short. That goal against Leamington, and the hat trick against Bae Colwyn, will stay with me for a very long time (assuming at 66 that I actually live for a very long time !)

Thank you for everything already mentioned......but also for making your decision so promptly that we have ample time to try and replace you. It won't be easy.

Thanks Wally. A great sport and a true Gent. Good luck at where ever you end up (The Stockport forum is speculating that you are signing for Barrow based on the comments on this thread  :D)
