Title: Are you ready?
Post by: OrangeBlood on November 18, 2008, 09:38:50 AM
How do you think you will get on tonight? I think you missed your opportunity that Saturday, the town will be up for it this time round. My guess is 1-4  I'm not often wrong!

Having read your forum regularly over the last couple of weeks, most of your fans seem to think you've won this game already. Hopefully your players will turn up with the same attitude and get a nasty surprise.

Good luck for the rest of the season.

To be honest most are apathetic about the outcome. I personally would rather we lost the game as it would allow us to concentrate on the league but loosing games in whatever competition also dents confidence so its a double edged sword. The timing of this game  however allows us to build on the form shown against D&R and I think the players will be eager to capitalise on this. So I believe the players will turn up with the right attitude.

I am confused about the apathy thing.

Your league position is beyond bleak and I honestly think it's a lost cause - relegation appears certain. However, the FA Cup is a chance to win large sums of money, something your club is crying out for, and try to start the rebuilding process in earnest.

I think your fans have a strange sense of priority, but good luck to you all the same.

In years gone by we have oft said we'd rather survive than perhaps have a trophy run or something.

I've never subscribed to this, you put your best eleven out and do your best and you'll remember the cup run far long after relegation has been forgotten..(once you've been promoted back up again).

We are eager willing and can't wait to get cracking and I am unanimous in that.

Always believe my friend.

Money, long term will not be such an issue. We have good people behind the scenes now who are acting wisely and prudently. We are actually quite a big club, I know it sounds boorish to state this but we do have lots of potential.

If money is not an issue why did your directors spend all afternoon bleating to ours about being impoverished at the original tie?

I must admit you do have to pick and choose your topics there, however there is always the Disney version over at 606 quite a few Luton fans post there.

I agree that you have lots of potential and if you can develop strong links with the local asian community I reckon that could be a winner. It goes without saying that relocating to somewhere a bit more accessible would be advantageous too.

I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know here...

Nice to see some respect Alty fans - thanks :-)

Personally I think we have a good chance of winning tonight. Luton in the first tie were very strong and imho too strong without the ref pulling them up on it. First half we hung on, second half they looked shattered and I feel we may be the fitter of the two sides if that game was anything to go by. Not bad for a part time team :-)

A good ref tonight I think will even that out and help our cause.

I just hope our injuries dont upset us too much.

I am so up for this game, COME ON ALTY, lets make as much noise tonight as we did in the first tie.

WE'RE HERE WE'RE FROM ALTRINCHAM !!!

That's exactly the right attitude to have. Stability first, success second. Everyone seems to be in a hurry to miss that first step. Anyway, may the best team win - and by best, I mean Alty  ;)

Luton are abig club as far as i am concerned, how anyone can say they are not is beyond me.If we had got Leeds we would have said they are a big club so whats the difference.
Its a shame when teams fall on hard times it does happen and it has happened to us remember and we struggled to compete while we had no money.so lets not start having a pop at each other we are all Football fans no matter who we support, even Macc are included in that

Not quite 4-1 but I think I called it quite well.

Just kidding, closer than I thought. Well done you were unlucky.
