Apologies for putting this here..congestion charge
« on: May 22, 2007, 03:16:57 PM »

Moderators feel free to delete/move but I thought this is the most looked at forum and it does affect local Alty fans and coach busineses(!)

How do we all feel about the congestion charge that is coming to Manchester?

After 2million signed the petition against road pricing, promises about consultation, reductions in fuel tax/road duty this project is set to go live by 2012...but hey! it's Ok...the metrolink will be expanded to Wythenshawe!

In spite of it all going quiet at local election time, the plan is full drawn up and ready to go; note the washway road will be a charged road.

Labour government has been taxing this country to death for 10 years now. Time for change!

I suspect that this will grow and grow over time as a thread as differing people have differing views of politics many of which are very deeply entrenched.

Could I suggest therefore that to protect the sanity of those either not interested or too young the administrators might move this to another part of the forum.

I suspect that some of the arguments may get a bit heated and we don't want to offend anyone do we?

Jezza,

Just promise me that you won't get us all snowed under by a blizzard of emails, as you managed to do a few years ago when you got all excited about those lorries blocking fuel depots!

not really about congestion, but i am doing politics next year and i had to choose a party to research, so i chose the monster raving loony party. can i ask if we can introduce this at alty matches next season?

Cult

As long as supporters direct don't send me another virus ridden e-mail then I'm sure we'll all be fine.

Ironically that e-mail also went onto the Supporters Direct yahoo group and they got a bit upset so... every cloud....

That's okay so long as you don't have to use public transport to get to the match, you don't mind the bins not being emptied or the streets swept, in fact so long as you don't actually want to use any public services then yeah go ahead vote Tory

And if you think Marcus Hallows waited a long time for an Ambulance the other year just wait until they get back in and anyone requiring an ambulance or hospital treatment due to a sporting injury is charged commercial rates for it.
