Lots of internet interest today, big list at the bottom of the page. Hoping for something today, many feel the FA Cup is no longer what it was, but it still is to me. H, if they are corned beef please chuck them, I'll get you a pizza.
-
Not much interest elsewhere: not on BBC internet or Sky and the Stagsnet needs card details before you can log on.
-
Anyone know how we are doing?
-
Anyone got a contact there?
-
i've got a friend there, but he said he should only be getting into the ground now as he was in trafic.

SW,
Prize money of £12,500 for winning a Fourth Qualifying Round tie says that the FA Cup should still be vital to us!
-
Come on boys!!!!!!
Thats my bit of shouting done for the day!
Rafo ya big beast!! :P
-
Looks like it will be over by HT and not worth listening to the 2nd half.... >:(

Exactly Cult, but the kudos and excitement of our halcyon years in the cup remains with me, despite themuch needed cash. Not looking great though is it!
-
young on for lawton
-
For what its worth there is still time for 2 or more Alty goals (after a rollocking at half time)

Same here Steve, I remember when we just expected to be in the THIRD round, let alone the first!
-
Too true Simon, we were spoilt in our youth I guess.
-
Such was our reputation that noone wqas surprised when we beat Birmingham.
-
not worried about the cup today, lets go for the league
and hi everyone
-
Too true Simon, we were spoilt in our youth I guess.
Certainly were, although just before the glory years I remember going over to Rotherham in the first round and losing 5 nil, you were probaby there weren't you SW? 1976 I think?

What sarnies today?

none JD i am at home
-

Indeed.
Just three wins in our last 11 FA Cup ties is a far cry from the glory days of the late 1970s/early 1980s.
-
none JD i am at home
Get some roast beef quick - we need the goals!
And don't forget the cider!
-
2-0 down H/T

Harold,
I'm sorry....but I have to say that outlook is just nonsense.
Who says that you can't do well in both competitions?
£12,500 at stake for the winners today - money that I'm sure GH would find rather useful in bolstering his depleted squad.
-
Yes we had a few defeats in the early to mid 70's Rotherham being one, Halifax another I recall.
Its significant that we pick these out against the usual wins against the lower league sides. My first was Hartlepool, but I remember the home replay win against SC**thorpe (first time) like it was yesterday afternoon.
Notts County at home was gutting, undeserved heartbreak for a youngster who thought at the time football was all there was in life.
-
Actually at the game, they have not created anything and yet are 2 goals up. First goal from a dubious free kick which was supplied to Perry who lifted ball to Duffy to head home. Stu gifted the second by try to dribble the ball but Duffy on hand to roll into open net. Stewards have been trained by Mr Jobsworth and the fans are hemmed into half the width of a stand behind the goal. Hopefully second half we can keep up some pressure and claw something back. Options on bench limited and Little needs some more supply to capitalise. Perry cheating again with a blatant dive but the ref was weak and awarded nothing.
-
I meant i'm not worried about the cup,i always thought it was going to be a tough game and could not see any further than Mansfield going through sadly.Anyway i will get the cider poured.
I was at Goodison, old trafford anfield, our defeat and our win against rotherham, went to sC**thorpe as well.Orient, but missed the spurs game

I know what you mean, despite the bravado, it was always going to be difficult to get a result.

Have a bit of ham and pickle with it H, for the team like.

I blame all your talk of pizza for this SW...
-
:D Sorry , but the corned beef last week heralded a disaster.
The fortunes of our club are rooted in H's choice of grub.
-
had a ham and cheese toastie,so they might come out all hot(firedup)rofl
-
Any news?

Is burns up to much?

Is burns up to much?
Hopefully hotter than H's toastie!
-
WTF?! The BBC has coverage of the Blue Square North on the vidiprinter, but not FA Cup! Priorities?
-
Any news?
Still 2-0 down. Duffey off Speight on for Mansfield.
-
Burns looked useful against Mansfield at Moss Lane and took his goal well
-
3 nil

I can'd believe there is so little interest in the FA Cup. Shows how the Premier League has taken over football.
-
3 nil
Bo%%ocks
-
3-0 down
-
is this the time i'm meant to say" maybe next year?"
-
According to Sky Sports news it is just half time at Mansfield and we are only 2 down!
-
We have not had the luck of the draw in the last 2 seasons, both tough games
-
Well that clearly is that then, perhaps we should as a club not get involved in silly spats with other sides, as it only serves to fire people up.
Sorry if that sounds out of order but the last fortnight has been full of this and I do not think it helps anyone in preparing for a game.

Agreed, looking at Chiswick Alty's updates all the goals were avoidable. Maybe there's a level of tension in the way Alty are playing.
-
As somebody already eluded to, this was the worst possible draw we could have got, considering what happened at Moss Lane recently against them. Maybe the boys went into it with their hearts not their heads? Cant really comment as wasnt there I suppose.
We have to put this behind us, and concentrate on playing the intelligent, attractive footy that has got us points this season. We can be a tough-tackling, hard-working side that can also play footy so have a lot to play for in the BSP.
Btw, bit surprised Young isnt playing? Dropped or not fully fit?
-
He's come on for lawton. And Welch is on for Clee.
-
Fair point, pity we couldn't have got a Kendal or Newcastle BS type team this time but the law of sod was against us I feel after the game at ML two weeks ago.
-
Ryan Shotton sent off for professional foul for Barnsley.
-
2,410 att, 203 Alty
-
Good turnout, well done to all who travelled.
-
I dont know why it kicked off on the forum against Mansfield,Their fans were smashing at Moss Lane(though i had to get my 85 yr old father in the car quick, when he tried to start a fight)i did say sorry to the Mansfield fan. They were friendly in the chippy and the bar before the game and got behind their team.
-
Kearney sent off?
-
Tom Kearney sent off....
-
That would be not good news, why?
-
blimey 3 players sent off against Mansfield is this a record i wonder
-
Kearney sent off?
If that is the case - Oh bo%%ocks once more
-
Why the fu ck are we have thousands of sendings off this year? It really is ridiculous.
-
It is the case. Straight red
-
Not to break tradition or anything...
::)
-
If the game is lost, as it clearly is, then why the f*ck get yourself sent off when we are down to bare bones as it is? Senior's was a pointless and obvious dismissal too. We need to get discipline sorted out very quickly if you ask me. l
-
Agree with SW totally there

If we start getting fines that should sort it.
-
To right, SW, game is gone, at least don't get anyone else suspended, especially one of our best players by all accounts this season. Just wraps up a miserabe afternoon >:(
-
must be fulltime
-
Time to get the dinner on I think, another disappointing Saturday, we need to get back on track very soon.
Till next time folks.
-
Kearney got a straight red don't know what for yet >:( >:(

Wretched news all round.
Does that signify a three match ban then?
-
Vics 3 FCUM 0.
I'll take that as the better option.

Depends if it was violent or not.

What he said.
The scenes at the end have tarnished, what should have been remembered as a performance of effort and a great cup run.

I can't help but agree
Why the need to run on the pitch? Because their player had the temerity to celebrate a goal?
Given we were losing I was hoping we could clap the team off, keep our dignity and celebrate a decent cup run. In short, show everyone what the club is all about.
Instead, we get another display of f**kwittery from a minority who show us all up to be troublemakers and thugs.
-
It never goes away does it, hope they never make it up here, they will be trouble all over.
-
Went out with Jennifer to splash in puddles - much more fun!!!
-
Poor performance by Alty in difficult conditions. You can't gift a team like Mansfield two goals (again!) and expect something from the game Naming no names too many players just not up to the task today. Players who deserve credit were James Smith and Greg Young.
Mansfield fans seemed very pleased with their performance and perceived dominance today but if you take away the Alty errors, for all their whizzy jinkiness, they only got one goal from open play.
Embarrassing lack of Altrincham discipline again. I wonder where that comes from?
-
What did the young kid from the youth team look like when he came on? Look like a decent prospect?
