It's a tough one to call with Perritt and Ferguson - on the one hand you could argue we're marooned in mid-table and might as well get them up to speed, but then surely you do that once they've trained with their team mates at the very least.

Sounds as if we compromised ourselves at Wealdstone by accommodating Cashman, who can only play at 10; given Maxi can't play on the wing, Osborne had to do so by default, with Maxi slotting in alongside Josh.

Against Solihull we were great with Osborne alongside Marriott (as indeed they were in the second half of last season).

I'd go back to that, with Maxi at 10, Josh at right back... and Cashman nowhere to be seen.

Our midfield needs to be Marriott and Lundstram. Without doubt our strongest midfield partnership.
Osborne has done well, but we should not be accomodating him to play Lundstram at RB. That would be madness.
We have Miles or Perritt for RB
Even when Osborne plays well he does not influence games. He can't cover the ground those two can.
We desperately need another winger, may now have to wait until next season to find that player.

I’d play maxi over bennet. Not sure where he was playing yesterday. Was he really at 10? With osbourne behind him he kept getting dragged backwards or he was supposed to be behind osbourne at 10 and kept pushing forwards.

Agree with the rest though assuming all fit, including keeper but I think Gould is out on loan isn’t he?

We started Cashman no.10, Osborne out left with Lundstram and Maxi CM.
Then went Cashman out wide, Maxi no.10 and Osborne back in CM. We looked better, but Osborne was a passenger most of the game.
We are such a weaker team when Lundstram and Marriott aren't together. Praying they get through Tues.

Agree with the above.
Need more threat in the 10 position. Maxi has struggled in the last 2 games.
I know he hasn't been playing but Perrit did not impress yesterday so defo would start Miles, if fit.
Jones comes back in being fully match fit over Kyle.
I know we should be starting our best 11, but I am worried about either Lundstram or Marriott picking up an injury. We would be in a right pickle if one or even both were injured for York.
Also, with Hulme the only available striker next Sat, unless he uses Hugill then we need to protect him aswell.
Still missing another natural and pacey winger, PP doesn't fancy Gyasi.

Warriors out there today.
Back 4 won a lot of the battles, Byrne more confident.
Lundstram drivng forward.
Marriott just being immense as always.
Think we have found our no.9 in Linney. Relentless work rate.
Still feel we need at least one winger in the starting 11.
I do like the look of Oyedele, feel we improved when he cam on in the extra mid/10 position. Liked how we had players wanting to get into the box for once.
Still sh*t at corners though.
Bizzing with that result.

Are we winning with Osborne in the team? Nope.

Not sure he has been very good? He has improved but does he improve the team? Nope

Doesn't create and is slow and gives away freekicks. In my opinion we are weaker with him playing.

He will start tomorrow but I think we are wasting games to get valuable points by letting him play, just because he has improved, from being absolutely bobbins.

My personal view is he a waste of a position.

We are much better with two actual wingers. Cashman or Bennett  no.10. I would be confident enough to say that giving Pringle or the United midfielder the same minutes as Osborne we would have seen a lot more.

Cashman needs more of a chance yet, but Bennett is a top player for the No.10 position.
Will take a while to get fit but happy he has returned.

No.10 is an important position in our team.

Cashman looked very disinterested tonight, albeit he was out of position for a lot of the game.

Osborne had a good game but he isn't good enough to make things happen.

We are better with two wingers on the pitch, so why not try Ben for a few games at no.10. He has never been given a proper opportunity, like others. He see's passes that other's don't and can't do.

On a seperate note, Linney looks very good. Strong and confident lad. Hulme is giving his all but I feel Linney would give us more of an attacking outlet.

Linney not turning up on time - traffic or not - is unacceptable for a lad wanting his chance at this level.
Yeah totally agree.

Think this was the game that tipped the scales for me on Byrne. He's clearly rooted to his line 90% of the time and that's a problem. On top of that his distribution tonight was very poor at times, and not just the poor pass which led to their 2nd goal. He's often too quick to get things going, throwing or passing the ball to players in a poor position. When he doesn't have shots to save, which he didn't tonight, it further exposes some of the flaws in his game. What's the deal with GK coaching? Do we have a specialist? He looks like he severely needs it.

I was saying this tonight. What is he being coached?

He will need to start coming for a few to gain that confidence. I think we all accept there will be mistakes along the way, but give it a try lad.

Can't be much worst than being rooted and conceding without trying.

I previously mentioned it being a mental block, he needs some guidance, support and being told to give it a bloody go and be confident.

Looked a lot better when Pringle and Linney came on.

Can't believe people are slating Osbourne, thought he was our 2nd best player behind Marriott.

Welsh-Hayes had a poor game by his standards, but the real issue is Byrne. I believe we've invested heavy in him but he looks shot.

Going to be a long hard 2-3 weeks

A lot of people saying Osborne played well mate, me included but we need to accept he ain't the answer in any position with how we play.

Ain't a winger and isn't good enough as no.10. That's the harsh reality. Tonight was an example of him playing well, but doing nowt to create chances.

When Con-Clarke played well as no.10, we all knew about it. Would like to see our record with Osborne starting this season.

Not slating him tonight but he is not or never will be our answer to LW or No.10. Rather see Pringle or even the United youngster.

Sheesh, didn’t enjoy that. I too thought Osbourne was one of the better players tonight but not much else to encourage the 1400 odd Alty fans. Thought welch hayes had his worst game since arriving

I do seem to be witnessing a few goals conceded where Ollie Byrne seems rooted to the spot.

Linney showed some promise. I hope he gets a run in the side.

0 from 12 last 4 games. Hardly play off material. Worried we’ll get sucked into a full-on relegation battle.

Maybe in the minority but I am not 100% sure on our RB. Decent player and not too bothered about him...yet, but just have this feeling about him.

Terrible goals to concede.

Sinclair could be a big loss. Only wide player that is currently making things happen.

Cashman disinterested. Osborne played well but not good enough and doesn't make us tick.

Important we get back to having two decent wide players on the pitch and number 10 who get things going. Still hope Cashman will step up, otherwise I would go for Pringle.

Byrne really needs to command his area, otherwise we need another keeper.

As someone mentioned, would be great to have Ferguson back in CB.

Linney looks very good.

Shame, as I thought that he was a decent choice for us.

Could do with looking for similar calibre.
