Saturday, 29th December 1979

Alliance Premier League

Altrincham....0  Northwich Victoria....0

* on a snow-covered pitch, Vics become the first visiting side to gain a point at Moss Lane in the APL;

* that dastardly Vics ogre Jeff Forshaw 'challenges' Stepney and renders him unconscious, whilst removing some of the Alty keeper's teeth in the process;

* full back Stan Allan goes in goal for Alty for 55 minutes and still Vics don't score;

* Tony Sanders fumes at the Northwich 'tactics' in the post match analysis!

You must remember this one...!

So, vent your spleen and let me have your reminiscences of that afternoon.

Please post your reminiscences on this thread or email your anecdotes etc to me at:

Many thanks, in anticipation.

Many thanks to JTH; Redhill Alty; Sydney Alty and Kingy's Beard for their responses to date.

I can't believe that the likes of the gazelle; Jezza or Bogman of Alty haven't launched into a rant about Jeff Forshaw yet though...!
