Stockport County - MATCH THREAD
« on: December 14, 2016, 02:30:05 PM »

Alty 4/1
Draw 3/1
Stockport 3/5

Another new dawn, I wouldn't like to guess a team with things subject to change by kickoff, apart from a straight swop of Jones in for Richman. For the first time in a long time since the SPs were announced this morning altys odds have come in and the oppositions drifted slightly. Though we were a touch unlucky on the home game against Stockport, so hopefully we can go slightly better this time around.

Not been as optimistic about a match all season as this one. Genuinely believe it could be the start of a new dawn.

This will decide if I go out of my gaff until January.

As said above feel more confident that in long time.

Would even take a draw

We'll take the same 250/300 that we're at stalybridge plus a few more for the changing of the guard

I have no doubt Mr  Jones will be making his debut but wow what a lot of experience. Michael Owen is celebrating a birthday today Age? 37 I hope he can make a difference.

Tough lineup to call, this one.

Now we have decent wide options in Patterson and Clee, part of me wants to go 4-5-1 and keep everything solid - which would mean keeping Richman in the XI and Miller (or Reeves) dropping out.

But I guess Miller behind Reeves (now Nicky is back) would be the consensus, with Lawrie as a straight swap off the bench.

Centre half remains a big issue.

I'm surprised nobody expects Hobson to play? Reading what Buzz said after Blyth, he played really well there and got his goal which should give him a big boost. I would be surprised if he didn't start again especially given the way Stockport played in the home game - very direct, long throws, focus on set plays etc. His height could prove useful.

Reading Clee's remarks on the website I'm guessing he may be a sub tomorrow ("play a part if selected"). For once I'm actually looking forward to a game!

It won't be popular, but I'm thinking that both Reevesy and Nicky may be on the bench tomorrow. Sounds like Hobson and Miller did very well at Blyth last week. No idea who I'd select if it were me - a real test for Matt's management skills though with a good group of players to choose from for once! Agree with MarpleAlty about still having defensive concerns.
