can't deny Sth Shields were the better team over 90 mins, but we held our nerve and had some very good performances.
Thanks Alty TV and RR

SS looked like a full time outfit and played a lot of good possession football. Our lads stuck to the task with some creditable performances. Maybe little lucky to get through but very pleased for them nonetheless.
We see lots of other clubs efforts at TV coverage. They can be a bit of a mixed bag. Alty TV is consistently top drawer. As fans we are very fortunate to have this service particularly as we can’t get to the ground to watch live. Lovely stuff.

Hear hear!
And what is it about Alty and players with the initials "JJ?"

Lucky or not, it was excellent work for the 2nd goal, and involving Sumners yet again. One to look out for, I reckon.

He never stopped and never gave up on any loose ball.

Fitting that he scored the winning pen - I think he quite enjoyed that one! I'd like to know how Eccleshill managed to get to the 1st round though - surely a big achievement for a club at their level.

Seeing as you are asking, they have beaten Retford 6-0, had a walkover against Handsworth, beaten Harrogate Railway Athletic 7-1, then beat Gateshead 5-3 away.
The first team meanwhile are in the bottom half of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division, so, as you say, it's quite an achievement. I have noticed occasionally before that certain clubs just have bizarrely good youth teams, maybe just for one set of players.

18 goals in 3 games is some achievement at any level, so they can't be underestimated.

Well done to the Youths, never gave up against full time opposition.
I streamed for the first tme through Ticket Co TV on smart TV via fire stick I purchased. Overall quality much improved over streaming via laptop/hdmi onto TV. Buffered a couple of times but not sure whose fault that was. But overall excellent.
Will do next home game the same way.

Am I missing something here? Are South Shields really full time?
-
Well done lads, sounds like they hung in there against a good team.
When do we know who they're up against next round?

I was puzzled by this. I assume they're full time in the same sense as members of our new academy team will be (but I could be mistaken 😉) 😏

South Shields First Team & U18's are both full-time.

About 5 miles from Guiseley, tidy ground, presume we can attend?

You would be okay at the moment, but not anyone who lives in Greater Manchester, as we can't leave without good reason.
EDIT - Actually, even you might not be able to attend. I have heard that FA Youth Cup 1st Round and later matches are considered "elite" so they would be behind closed doors. I am not sure how accurate that is, but it does sound very likely as EFL clubs have come in.
-
I’m sure anyone that wanted to attend could be given a voluntary club role for the evening as you can travel for work

That's true and is a possibility. One club had mentioned registering their pensioner supporters as players!

Eccleshill United say the game is on Wednesday November 4th with a 7.45 kickoff. Spectators can attend (although you are not supposed to leave Greater Manchester without a good reason, I suspect they might not be too bothered about that).

there won't be any problem with covid as the game will finish by 10 pm when COVID-19 appears.
