Not pretty, but....
« on: March 13, 2013, 09:55:06 PM »

Little doubt that tonight's game was make or break re. the rest of the season, so glad that it went our way (even if it wasn't pretty).  Talk about making life difficult.  After receiving a call from Mrs T to 'get home' about 20 minutes into the match, I'd just like to, once again, thank the RR team for another great commentary.

Poor performance against a ridiculously spirited Solihull side. Their manager is doing some job there, not sure what went on in the corner.

Table says three points, the players won't need telling that has to improve if we are serious about the playoffs.

I have to rely on the matchday updates at work, so thanks to JL.

On one hand i am disappointed with the non-performance tonight against a really average Solihull team who were down to ten men for the best part of 40 minutes. That said, as cliched as it may be - all the best sides win ugly - and I think tonight was the ugliest I have seen us play and still come away with three points.

It would have been nice to see us smash solihull 5-1, but it's about the 3 points at the end of the day and the two goals bundled in off Reeves' chin and the second off Lawries shin are more important than any wondergoal duncan will score this season.

Another step closer to playoffs, nice to see us not bottling it for a change.

That might turn out to be a "BPA away" type result, it doesn't matter how you play at this end of the season as long as you get the points, but I beg the management to bring a central midfielder in for the run in, please please please, sign another central midfielder, we were dreadful in the middle of the park tonight, not complaining but get on the phone before these last 11 games...

If we did not have watmore we would be screwed he changed the game tonight

We were poor tonight but on the plus side we won

To stand any hope in any potential play offs we have to transform ourselves

It was as painful to listen to on the Radio as it was to watch by the sound of things.

Still, most experienced Alty watchers somehow knew that a night like that was in store but as Easter approaches 3 points is king.

Since the poor run we have responded with 3/3, our historically excellent record at Colwyn Bay will be put to the test again this weekend but vital we maintain that now and as a bonus shut that clown Sinclair up too.

Come on Alty.

Have to echo Ecky's observations.

To be candid, that was an atrocious performance from us.

What is it about us that we seem to panic when the opposition have been reduced to 10 men?

If Moult retreats any further, he will be behind Coburn.

There is a Bermuda Triangle in our central midfield. Alty players disappear and passes always mysteriously go to the opposition.

There must be some decent free agent central midfielders looking to put themselves in shop window that were reased in January, a player in the mould of Connors,Bushell,Doran,Carmody,Hussin. I'd even suggest Lewis Chalmers if he wasn't so out of shape. Lewis need to come back here and have someone put an arm round him and get his focus back. He'll still be a great player when fit. But that's for next season, we have 11 games left and a quality midfielder could push is on to much greater things.
