i used to drink in the moss on a thursday and the players used to come in for a pint, that was when brian taylor was captain. On a side noteI have served Bobby charlton in david vincents george street when i was in my teens

One of the best shops in Alty,  H

He opened the shop after opening the world's eyes to an alien invasion in "The Invaders!"

I've seen Bryan Robson pi**ed in The Park (Pat Crerand's old pub) and Norman Whiteside pi**ed in The Griffin in Bowdon, outside of which I also saw David Gower snogging a bird, who I don't think was his wife.  I've also seen Joe Jordan in a chippy in Alsager and Paul McGrath and Ron Atkinson in Hale and Wilmslow Safeways respectively. Would swap any of these to bump into an Alty legend!

As we're slightly off topic, I was in the Townhouse in Hale one Sunday night when the Welsh first team squad walked in. Ian Rush, Mark Hughes, Clayton Blackmore and yes, I found myself in the gents with the Knobsock himself!!

Norman Whiteside I met at a Unicorn Athletic Sportsmans dinner. He was the after dinner speaker. We had a couple of drinks together and a slightly inebriated chat for half an hour.

Nice fellow, and as pointed out to him, he scored the only goal I have ever seen live in an FA Cup final.

I actually asked him the question, what does it actually feel like to score a goal at Wembley and for that matter at Old Trafford. To be honest, I said; 'If it was me my head would probrably explode from the adrenalin burst.' He said, 'That's pretty much it, but it's hard to explain without actually experiencing it yourself as you would not understand,' understandably! Jeez it would be good enough for me putting one into the Golf Road end goals!!

Guess I'll never ever know, but I thought it was a good question!!
