I was rather surprised to see a picture of those muppets in the Mansfield programme last week with the caption "joy on the pitch" in the section on Alty!!!!!!!

What happened to Smith as well? He'd have to start before Laney any day in my book!! Don't suppose we could get Byrom from Vics as he seems to be the sort of midfield player we need.

Asked Rod in the bar last night what he was doing Saturday and he said "I'm down here".

That just gives me the index headings on the left of the page and a white wilderness in the middle of the page!!! My Virgin set-top box packed in over the weekend and the engineer couldn't sort the PC out last night when he replaced it. I've re-configured the Belkin router with help from the tech support but I'm guessing there's something that hasn't loaded properly!!!

Anyone know why I can't get to see the video.......has it moved? I can watch Youtube videos and those on Sky News but can't get any of the MEN ones to work.

Picks itself just about as I guess Welch will be cup-tied one way another (must be a silly rule somewhere that stops him playing!!) but I'd go with the following and keeping the 3-4-3 line-up;

                                                                                             Coburn

                                                                     Lane           McGregor            Young

                                                         Lawton            Densmore          Danylyk          Doughty

                                                                        O'Neill         Johnston        Little

I'd move Robbie to the wing-back role he tried in the summer and get Shaun in centre mid so we might be able to play a bit more football. I'd go with Meech as well if O'Neill isn't fit.......can't take another 90 minutes of Warren!!!!!!

See you later mate!!!!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Well done lads - REF!!!!!
« on: March 11, 2009, 10:16:08 PM »
I agree that we can't blame the ref for the defeat, however, once again we see inconsistencies from the man in black again. When their player went down injured in the first half and it was obviously not a head injury he blew up when we were in possession, however, when Chris Senior went down injured he allowed Torquay to continue attacking us. It was only their good sportmanship in kicking it out of play that actually stopped play!! Also as JL says in his match report, Welch booked for his first tackle and yet their centre half committed a far worse foul on Senior and hardly got spoken to never mind booked.

The ref was in the bar after the game and was acting an arrogant so and so.......he reminded me of an old mate who is also vertically challenged like he is and was a ref when younger (even being on the line during our famous game against Slough and Gary Shaw). I'm sure they become refs so they can boss the bigger boys about and make up for being short-arses!!!!!!!!!

I think it will be Meech as well and wouldn't be surprised if he goes back to Stalybridge.

Doughty.......what are some people on?????????

No one has mentioned that they have signed Damien Reeves from Histon either (check out the BBC report about Histon getting a League 2 forward - I don't do linky things!!!!!!!!!!!).

Is it my memory playing tricks but didn't he get hit by the ball about 3 times in the first 10 minutes?!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Injury updates
« on: December 23, 2008, 12:40:23 PM »
Look's like someone at the club agreed with my comments on here the other week and I'm pleased to see news about player's fitness on the club web-site........well done!!!!!!!

By the way.......in Robbie's absence what about Joe O'Neill in centre mid-field rather than persisting with Warren?

Happy to oblige and would go along with that team but with a minor positional change. Smith in the back 3 (or 5) with McGregor and Young and Laney to right back/right mid-field which is pretty much a straight swap for Densmore.

What are your thoughts for the Barrow game.

Looks to me like the rails have come off a little with two heavy defeats but our league position is excellent and above where I expected to be.

We could do with getting back on Track again but I just feel we might have lost a little confidence and with Densmore still banned I can see a crazy formation again.

I hope we go back to the formation that won us so many games a few weeks back and we have a fit Robbie Lawton to play Midfield.

Not seen the games or goals but how did Ralph play, any his fault? Time for Coburn again or not? If no goals were his fault keep Ralph in.

Barrow 2 - 1 Alty

Ralph
Doughty
Mcgreggor
Young
Lane
Lawton
Danylyk
Elam
Senior
Little
Johnson

No Smith then?!!!!!!!

Why not buy a programme. The money helps the club and there is usually an injury update in it. I am assuming that you can get to games.

Season ticket holder myself and always buy a programme......not much use reading in next week's that Robbie isn't fit for the Crawley game though is there?!!!!!

Altrincham FC First Team / Information from the club
« on: December 06, 2008, 12:30:01 AM »
I appreciate John Laidlar does a wonderful job with the Alty website and provides so much news and information about the Blue Square and local non-league clubs with the exception of one...........Alty!! I don't for a minute criticise John as he can only report what he is given but can someone tell me why week after week we never hear how injured players are doing? I'm pretty sure I've not seen any news about how Chris Denham is doing other than what was on the forum, Colin Little subbed at half-time against Luton and I think most people thought he was injured but again no news and this week, Robbie injured last week but is he going to play today, who knows?
Maybe there is a reason for being so secretive but every other club seems to release information about the likely team or the fitness of the players so if we've got someone at the club responsible for press releases how's about keeping the web-master in the news?
