Didn't think I'd be able to get one this year, but it seems I now will. Very excited for this coming year.

This is a potentially half-baked idea because I've only just thought of it and not had time to think it through.

However, I wonder if there could be some way for people to buy a kids season tickets and then these get given to a child? I'm mainly thinking about people who don't get to many home games but would like to give the club some cash.

The club gets some money and they also potentially get a new fan.

The problem would be how to distribute the tickets...

How would you go about buying a season ticket?  What's the cost, and relative benefit over paying on the gate?

It works out at about a tenner a game, but it also gets you into pre-season friendlies at home. I think the prices stayed the same as last year, so its £225 but if you order before the 30th of June then you get a £10 discount. You can either ring the club or pop into the offices and speak to somebody who can advise more.

The full details should still be available on the club website along with a form you can fill in, in case that's easier than phoning the club. Briefly - adult standing ticket (£225 - £215 before June 30) works out at just over £10 per league home game if you buy before the end of June, so saving nearly £3 per game. Seated adult season ticket £265 (£255 before June 30); Concessions £125 (seat) £115 (standing); 12-16 £50; U-12 £25 (not sure whether £10 discount applies to concessions & juniors - best ask the club). Season tickets not valid for cup matches but are valid for friendlies.

Its not a bad idea, and Im sure a few clubs do simiar things

Depending on who takes this up, you could look ata company sponsoring a bulk load of them (I think this is.what Lewes do)

We rarely see statistics on season ticket numbers, other clubs seem to produce theirs. I have never bought one in all my time of watching Alty, I may however buy one this year. Can we get stats on numbers? And I think it would be fantastic if we could shift 500. I'd also like to see a recruitment drive in all the local schools. I'm sure IF in the form of a letter home etc that parents knew that for £25 they could see their kids entertained on a Saturday or 9 months of the year the uptake would be big.I know it needs volunteers to implement this stuff, but if we could shift another 500/600 junior tickets in the £25 and £50 brackets the knock in effects in terms of sponsorship and profile due to regular 1000+ attendances would be brilliant.

The problem is they need an adult with them, at a cost of £15, and quite often need to be in bed on a school night before the game finishes.

Last season there were 12 eligible games on a Saturday @£2 = £24, £1 cheaper than the season ticket assuming you could go to every one!

Never underestimate the value of metre upon metre of stepped concrete when it comes to child entertainment.

For 25 squid and a guarantee of at least 45 minutes football related entertainment and at most 45 minutes of having to keep a casual eye, to make sure he's not bleeding from his head, I will definitely be bringing #1 son down more often!

The cost of sending a kid to the cinema/Trafford Centre is frightful.

Met ticket to the trafford centre alone is £2.60 - a cinema ticket is £4.00 or  Minigolf  is £5 then theres food etc.
