Stockport got to the end of the game without going bust, which must at least be some encouragement for them.

The thing that concerns me from reading the official website is the lack of attacking threat without Clee. We can't just rely on one player all the time, other players need to come to the party or we may fall short of our aim of promotion.

Having said that, we were also without Richman and Summerskill who might have made a difference.

On the plus side, Lee will have learned a lot from today's game and it does no harm to have a reality check before the season gets underway.

you're right there. I am a bit worried about who is going to be our 3rd striker, don't think Mullholland is going to physical enough to be honest. One of the reasons we were poor today, IMO, is the 3 man midfield. We were missing Clee, Summerskill and Richman (Lynch too?), so perhaps the management were forced to it. It was causing us to lump the ball up field and the team plays much better knocking it along the floor.

I am sure Lee was trying 4-3-3 to see how it worked, or his hands were tied.

Also if Harrogate were watching us why should we show our hand?

We were without some key players today not least of all Coburn, Clee, Richman, Summerskill and Lynch.

Whilst I certainly would have wanted to win, this game I am sure was about the fitness of a few players and looking at Astley and Ollerenshaw.

No pannick, but the thought of not pressing the port goal is a little worrying.

Twiss wasnt that bad today... The lads were not firing on all 4 cyclinders today but they have put in good performances against decent opposition during the pre season friendlies....  Next Saturday is when it matters.

At the meeting tonight, Lee stated that he expects everybody to be available - I was very impressed by Lee and Neil at the meeting and I cant wait for next saturday when the real action starts

I'm still upbeat and Optimistic

Onwards & Upwards

Not the best performance but having said that we held our own in parts against a solid County side. I think we can take more from the Barrow game overall as today's team and tactics seemed quite experimental.

And  Barrow  won 3-0 at Colwyn Bay today which can perhaps serve as an indicator to the quality of some of the sides we will be up against this year.

Although Barrow have added two good signings in Adam Quinn and Louis Almond to their squad since Tuesday.
