By obscurity you mean where you've been for all of your history so shame you're disrespecting your own club like that. A northern Crawley in the making methinks.

In fairness to Fleetwood there's a big difference between how anyone feels when someone injects cash into a small club that's been playing fair with its finances and when there's an injection into someone who's been pisstaking with finances and shady bookkeeping.

How much would the fine be for fielding a 'weaker' team?

It's very vague, it just says upwards of £200.

On a serious note has it been discussed changing our affiliation to the Manchester FA, I seem to remember Droylsden stuck out a youth team for that and certainly didn't try to hide it, if their rules are different it might be something worth looking into.

Alty 1
Southport 0

A goal in the first minute, which catches out an awful lot of latecomers, followed by a relentless Southport attack for the remainder of the game let down by poor strikers and a Coburn blinder.

Agreed, at the moment I'd be happy if it hit a pigeon and went in (typing this has led me to wonder if such a goal would stand, are there rules about interfering with play here?)

They had an article on FA Cup giant killers a few issues back but didn't feature Alty, they've just published a reader's letter extolling our achievements and scolding them for missing us.

Suspended for it? Surely in principle anyone can bid for anyone?

One thing I noticed from the Old Firm game tonight, is that booking and sendings off in cup games, count only in that competition, not the league. Is that something that would be workable in England?

Yes, but that makes sense so it would never happen.

Does it? I don't like the idea that if you're 1-0 down with 5 minutes to go it's time to start hacking them down because getting away with it might get you that goal, and if you're caught, who cares?

Kept getting connection refused on android 2.2.

Works great on the laptop though.

Agreed Longman, Smith if fit and available will always be in the starting eleven, best defender we've had here for years, pray to god he doesnt get a ban.

When will we know if there's been a ban?

He had until the 22nd to respond so presumably we'll know soon.

Absolutely incredible that it was not given. The most blatant penalty that I have seen in many years. Why didn't the linesman on the right hand side not flag for it.The officials were typical of the standard we have in this league. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.

However, a sterling performance by the lads.Rankine seems to have become the new diving king a la Brodie.

Without getting into how obvious tonight's foul was (I wasn't at the match), in general I wonder if our standards for refereeing are too high? By definition half the refs must be above average? Unless there's some sort of systematic bias against talented referees getting promoted from lower levels and these truly are the best refs bar those who are higher, then maybe its time to accept that we've got officials who make a reasonable number of mistakes per game?

United tried to sell their own rights when the Glazer's first took over and it was defeated 19-1 in the premier league. As long as there's more clubs who'd lose from selling your own rights the big clubs will just get outvoted, they can't change the premier league rules alone.

Yes, simply because of club power. The major clubs of Europe are now THE force in football, not FIFA, if the big Premier League names wanted to bring down the FA (and they might well want to soon enough) they could.

To my mind the FA will become organised the same way as the Premier League is now, with clubs voting.
