Don't go quiet on us ladies and gentleman. FA Vase victory from last Saturday, you must be confident of a suprise result this Saturday ;)
Oh we are unbeaten in the last 4, scoring 14 goals in the process.
-
We were leading comfortably 3-0 on saturday and did our best to throw it away, hanging
on to win 3-2... Wev got a league cup tie away at dunston tomorrow night then we can think about causing an upset on saturday,, all il say is..... Youl absolutely hate our pitch
-
We have played on a ploughed field before at Droylsden, that shouldn't concern us.
-
remind me how we did on that ploughed droylsden pitch again?.....
-
I think we lost with Steve Hawes getting sent off and taking a swing at Dave Pace's bench but lets not give the game away ;)
-
Sorry you havent heard my dulcet tones for a while but I was at Donny races at the weekend doing me best to lose all me readies - nearly succeeded!
I've been looking out for your results and noticed you'd been doing well but you were only playing a P.A system last Saturday weren't you??
We're looking forward to the game and as I've said before it will be hard for us but underestimate us at your peril - Skemmy did!!
-
And by the way is that 38 seater all that you're bringing??
-
And by the way is that 38 seater all that you're bringing??
You sound disappointed. Its all we ever take and we always have 80/100 there.
I'd expect about the same at your place.
Your knowledge of Skelmersdales mindset is first class by the way.
-
My mam used to say "never bite the hand that feeds you".
Plenty of coach parking available for the replay at Moss Lane for your reference
-
We'll have 150/200 at Shildon on Saturday
-
That's a good turn out Socrates - when we went to Whitehaven in the extra preliminary round the official attendance was 84 and I reckon there was at least 70 Shildon there!!
It'll be a good boost for our coffers even if we don't get a result

You must have taken your regular 61 seater coach for that one. Nine others in cars, nice one.
-
and we'll probably play that useless lump Damian Reeves up front - a wee hint: he's so cr*p you won't need to mark him.
-
Shildon 2
Altrincham 4

Its hardly a ploughed field, in fact when you walk in the ground and look at it youl think what on earth was i talking about.. It looks quite decent from the terraces.. But out there its all humps and bumps and missing divets,, the perfect pitch for a cup tie between two teams 3 leagues apart......
-
and we'll probably play that useless lump Damian Reeves up front - a wee hint: he's so cr*p you won't need to mark him.
We've seen how many goals he scores Hamilton - we'll not be leaving him alone ;) ;)

I hope that you won't want to win it in case the next round is outside of the North East....#whydononeofthemwanttogoup

Simple,,, we cant afford to... Dont mind away cup ties, the home team pays the travel costs ;D
-
are you really a steward? Seen some odd ones at Hyde once, dont fancy a repeat ;)
-
Banter apart, these two guys feel friendly enough I'd say. It's not a bad part of the world, spent some time up there and the locals are straightforward and what you see is what you get. That'll do for me.

Apart from Gateshead, I think overall we have a decent record up in that part of the world. Im expecting to go through thou....first time of asking

Odd. ? In what way ?.... Bonz called me a steward, im just a dogsbody who runs the bar free of charge.... Only Ģ7 and 5 to get in on saturday lads,, you can have two or three pints as well and still not pay what your used to paying to get in at your place.... Get in the clubhouse earl, it only seats 80

He's just been lucky!
(This bluff isn't working is it?)
Can't get to the game, but if the welcome is as friendly as Bonz & Wilf I think a good time will be had by the Alty fans.
-
This will be my first away game by coach since about 1969 (South Shields as it happens !) so I'm really looking forward to that clubhouse !

How did you get to our Wembley trips between 1969 and now? Coach was a must in the 80's...

Great day out, next day full of celebrations too and then too find out Kingy had left for Runcorn was somewhat typical Alty. The likes of Wealands, Cuddy, Densmore, Farralley, Anderson, Reid & Ellis were developing into a strong squad.

So we did ! And between those two I went to the Orient replay by coach as well. So it's a mere 26 years since the last jaunt.
-
I can vouch you were on the coach in 86 my dad, our kid and me were on the same coach!

Didn't expect this old chestnut to rear it's ugly little head oh here but the simple fact is that most NL clubs would lose money travelling to the Manchester area or even further for a midweek game.Players can't get time off work a lot of the time as well. Our league chairman - Mike Amos ( the Northern Echo journalist) has badgered the F.A on numerous occasions for a more regionalised Northern set-up but up until now has fallen on deaf ears.
Having said that Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland and I think Dunston are applying for promotion this season and obviously Darlo will be taking their obviously easy( according to their fans) promotion.
Perhaps the answer is enforced promotion but we don't want to be putting clubs out of business

Well if your going to register on an opponents forum, don't be suprised with a bit of banter. Oh theres a good reason paragraph breaks were invented
because otherwise you end up with unreadable rubbish like this, spewed up on unsuspecting readers ;)

Give it a rest Knutsford Alty

Not going to go through what you have written on here in the past, really can't be arsed.
And report me to Ecky if you want, go for it not bothered.

You really are an unpleasant man
-
I was taking the piss in regards to the lack paragraph breaks and did include a ;) to portray this. I sense a whoosh here....
Just to be fair to myself can I include a couple of quotes from JDN on Oxford v Alty MATCHDAY THREAD
Load of sh*t
We were a disgrace today
Such sh*t against 10 men in such hot weather is a crime
The sooner Sinnott f**ks off the better
Same sh*t different season, and the same bollocks excuses on this forum
Today was the final straw
Sinnout now before its to late
and then
total lack of ability to manage at this level
Can not organise a team for toffee
Name one thing he had done right, since his sh*t head arrived at the club
To call LS a sh*t head is more of a crime than a bit of banter in my book.
-
Lets not go down this path again please. It makes me want to corrupt the database.
-
Apologies Ecky on my score but I did include a ;)
I was once played 5-a-side football against you donkey's back at Alty leisure centre and I know how much the club means to you.
Not going to apologise for or too JDN. Some of his rants are what they are, just rants.

Did you, that must have a few years back prior to my cruciate injury. Used to love playing five a side.
-
Im sure you played in a team with Chris Hulme who lived near Hale Road?
Im going back 20 years
but this could be a weird dream and could be wrong like ;)

-
Dunston 4 shildon 1 tonight gents, in front of two representatives from altrincham,, bit of a wasted journey really as shildon rested several players. Looking forward to the big cup tie,, see you all saturday
-
Can't make it myself Wilf & bonz but hopefully will be listening in if Radio Robins is working.
Good luck, after 17:00 on Saturday, to Shildon.
COME ON ALTY
COME ON ALTY
COME ON ALTY

We've drafted in six of the youth squad for it on the back of what we saw tonight and given the big guns Saturday off. Hope it doesn't backfire on us.

Could I please ask Knutsford Alty what a paragraph break is?
You see I only went to approved school - all they were interested in was games and woodwork.
I left at 14 to go down't pit - a hard life but couldn't turn down 5 shillings a year and as many rides on the pit ponies as we could handle.
JDN - Welcome to join me for a pint anytime mate. We might even discuss paragraph breaks( if I knew what one was of course!!)
What time do you think you'll be at Shildon??
-
I love talking about old money, my nana used to go on about a 'two bob bit'. And the rag and bone men are here, get in....
All the best for Saturday, hope we turn up in decent numbers so you get healthy takings....
-
Will you be joining myself and JDN for a pre-match pint Knutsford Alty? He seems a friend of yours ;) ;D
-
No mate but shall be tuned into Radio Robins....

hi bonz, think we getting to Shildon about 11.30
-
I'll probably be in Old Shildon club - it's only 100 yards from the ground. Excellent pint of real ale in there if any of you are into that sort of thing. I am on a regular basis!!
Nearest parking is behind the Royal George pub.
Shame Knutsford Alty isn't coming - we could have discussed his paragraph breaks or maybe calculus or my personal favourite- why Upper Volta changed it's name to Burkina Faso!!
If you fancy a pint or four before going to the ground though I'll give you directions or a post code for sat-nav
-
As I said all the best for Saturday, hope we turn up in decent numbers so you get healthy takings....
-
Cheers for that mate and all the best not only for this game but for the rest of the season as well. Although obviously I hope after Saturday you don't have to worry about the F.A Cup!!
I'm sure the Radio Robins won't need the 200 metres of cable as mentioned in an earlier post - not TOO sure though ;D ;D

My stamp collections says The Republic of Upper Volta. I do like the word "republic". Wonder when we'll get one?

You raise an interesting point my hairy friend. Although Aruba is a country, it does not have independent status, I think because certain issues are still handled by the Netherlands. But I noticed that in the 2012 Olympics, athletes from the Netherlands Antilles competed as "Independent Athletes" as between 2008 and 2012 they declared some sort of autonomy, so I donīt know how this changes things.

Yeah, technically they're self governing but are still encompassed by the kingdom of the Netherlands. Interesting one and should definitely be worth a bonus point on any decent pub quiz...

Absolutely not!!! Accepting Aruba as an independent country would create global turmoil. What next, Wales?

Not quite, although I listen to Radio Robins from the former Independent Republic of Ynys Mon ( Anglesey to you !)
"Former", since the lot in Cardiff took over from the local politicians when they became a little too independent, and ran the place without regard to "national" policies. Still the only place in the UK under "Direct Rule". New elections may occur next year if we're all well behaved ;)
-
Descending from ynys mon, hence I'm in no way welsh, I always keep a keen interest in the results of the island games, moderate showing by the lads last time out.Got a win over Alderney though.

That main stand at Croft Park is more intimidating than Napoli when they play Juve or Roma.
Are you Alan Pardew in disguise promoting the area teams, 55000 screaming jordees every other week with thousands locked out. ;D
Nice one!! - Like your sarcasm there Knutty Alty - as a mackem I really understand where you're coming from ;D ;D
Pleased I don't look anything like that smug, smarmy banker Pardew

Kenny Palin as we sat for two hours on the rainswept vehicle, marooned on a central reservation of the A639 at Leeds, will remain a memory to savour for all those who witnessed his lively rendition of "Old Macdonald had a farm", complete with animal impressions!

It was the second ground I ever cried in at the age of about 8
Young Master Flynn,
I suspect that I can name the first Alty game that reduced you to tears of unremitting sorrow:
Saturday, 30th October 1999
FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Replay
Stalybridge Celtic...3 Altrincham...2
Mind you, the mere mention of a certain Martin Filson still tends to set me off into a torrent of uncontrollable sobbing even after all these years....
I actually canīt remember that game, but Iīm sure I was there. However, my first horrific experience on the terraces which would probably still bring me to tears now was during the previous season:
FA Trophy, 27th Feb 1999
Boston United 2-0 ALTRINCHAM Att:2575

There were some decent players in that team. Quayle was a decent player, but we could not hang on to him, and good old Dickie Landon scored late having come on as a sub! How often did he do that?

He was no friend of Alty's though...!

Kuntsford Alty can't you go and support another team and piss their supporters off?
-
Croft Park? What Alty game was it mate?
Unfortunately it was probably this one, in which case, embarrassingly, I was 9. Didnīt like the rowdy 90 year olds.

It was earlier than that.......I believe that it was late August/early September 1998......I'm sure that we drew 0-0 up there as part of that 8 game run at the start of the season when we drew four & lost four.......you were 7.

Descending from ynys mon, hence I'm in no way welsh, I always keep a keen interest in the results of the island games, moderate showing by the lads last time out.Got a win over Alderney though.

We should arrange a contingent to travel to the games in jersey in 2015, Bermuda next year is a bit too far
My lad's first ever football match was the Island Games Final 1993.....Jersey 5 Isle of Man 1....played at Newport (Isle of Wight).

It's a must see event! I believe that the Faroe Islands used to compete in the football tournament, before they graduated to the European Championship.

Rumour has it that when Northern Ireland were drawn against the Faroe Islands for the European qualifiers the Northern Irish FA booked flights to Egypt!

Excellent news, thanks Dad, wish I hadnīt mentioned Boston now though!
A huge Alty contingent at the island games 2015 sounds like a laugh to me
