Thanks for the update ATV!
The "San Scrappo" will be brilliant for the team next season. 🤗

That was a lovely video to watch.
One question, does all the excess water flow down to that drain by the pop / chequers end corner?
I'm off to watch it again...
-
Think it must do. I wonder whether they will be putting a receiver tank and outflow pump or if it will be just gravity?
-
Excellent. Look forward to part 2

As far as I could tell, the equipment which lays the pipe (I’m sure it has a name) is linked with a theodolite in the main stand. The drains and are then laid to falls in 2 directions, the main drain from Golf Road down to deepest at Chequers and from highest at the main stand side to the Popular side. In effect it’s on a sloping plane from the corner at the Golf Road snack bar down to the lowest part at the corner of the pop and chequers end.

That should move all the water away from the boggy golf road / pop corner.

Thanks for that Alty TV. Excellent work by your good self as well as the contractors..
Looking fwd to the next episode

Excellent video on the pitch re-build.
Thanks for recording.

Anyone else think of the Benny hill music during the time lapse film?
Or was that just me?

Bonus points duly awarded to Alty TV for the use of the noun 'theodolite', which is surely a first for this forum.

Oh I don't know.
Didn't we used to play in the Macclesfield theodolite league? 😉😂

I think your getting confused with Macclesfield being home to Troglodytes. ☺
-
Don't think so.
When we got theodolites, it changed to the Macclesfield and Altrincham theodolite league didn't it?

Theo Dolite ? Never heard of him.

Team mate of Chris Senior?

Am I correct in assuming the pitch replacement has now been completed.
Are there anymore updates, time lapse photography, or responses to look forward to.

There still working on the pitch, I live within earshot and can hear the machinery is still there. Must be near completion now

Part two of the time-lapse video will be available in a couple of weeks time. The contractors seeded the pitch over the weekend but have a few bits and pieces to finish off around the pitch. As far as the video is concerned, just waiting for the first shoots to appear - watching grass grow in time-lapse should be a fitting conclusion to the film!

Alty Dave and Alty TV .. Thank you both for the update…
I expect the time lapse of watching the pitch burst into life whilst growing will indeed be a good way to end the final stages of the time lapse.
Certainly more interesting than watching paint dry. 😉
