Title: Kevin Street
Post by: wonderstuff on October 28, 2008, 08:28:55 PM
Kevin Street (right) sustained a freak injury to his left knee during Thursday night's training session, as he went past a player, he twisted his knee and heard a pop in his knee, which became swollen quite quickly. He is due to see the surgeon on Wednesday evening to assess the extent of the injury. Initial findings are not to good as it appears Kevin has sustained medial knee ligament damage as well as a possible cartilage tear. Hopefully an MRI scan will show us the extent of the damage he has sustained.

OUCH! Hope it's not as bad as it sounds!!

Ouch sounds nasty :(

He's a player I would have liked to have seen more of, so I hope he's not out too long :)

Official site sats it's a cruciate and he'll be out between 9 and 12 months

Very sad as we've never seen the same Kevin Street playing for us that played against us

Gutted.  Absolutely gutted.  Not only is it a year out, but there's only a chance that he'll recover to play again (look at the number of players who have had to retire - Paul Lake is just one who springs to mind).

Times have moved on though. It is possible nowadays to recover fully from this type of injury, though as you say, rewind 10-15 years and it would be game over.

I hope you are right Ballers - for Kev more than for the club.

That is really bad news, for the club, but for Kevin in particular. Lets hope he can get back as soon as possible.

He'll be back!

Let's face it if he can't get some help of the 'Big Fella' upstairs, who can?!  ::)

Seriously though, if he's out for such a long time and our squad is already paper thin, does this mean that we might be expecting a further signing or two? (or Val coming back from loan?)

There's going to have to be a signing in central midfield, and quick.

Although, I am still sure Densemore played centre-mid at Newcastle.
