I've seen Somner play before and I can categorically say he is no Danny Holmes. Hope he plays in centre defence and we have a go for Doran, or Brownhill at right wing back - believe it or not, that would get us close to where we need to be.

I doubt we'd have Doran back given the way he left.

Brownhill from Droylsden? He's a decent player but he'll be on good money there and by failing to join us last time he showed he lacks courage and ambition. Better off without.

I think he means the courage to step up to the Conference when he took the Paceys money and sacrficed ambition.  Rather than courage in the tackle.

its not couragous to play above the level u know u can compete in,more suicidal!!!!! that wouldve be a bad career choice at the time, watch this space though

Doubt we can 'afford' Brownhill anyway...........he had his chance to prove himself in the top level of non-league but decided he was better off playing against Hinkley and in front of 400 something crowds

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

He looks solid and determined. I just wonder if he would be playing in defence as I see he can play there? Certainly would put in a good shift!

Your defence of Liam Brownhill is only because he's your poker playing mate Jacko. If it was any other player in the same situation would your opinions be so blinkered?

Having seen him play for Droylsden against Fleetwood in the play offs he was woeful and compounded it by taking an awful penalty....

Fingers crossed.

I've booked him a white horse to enter the ground on for Saturday just in case.
