I hope I don't regret this...
« on: March 28, 2011, 07:59:10 AM »

I was in work on Saturday when Reeves' goal went in, getting text updates. In a mixture of overwhelming joy and frustration at not being there, I went straight to my manager and told her I can't do Saturdays anymore. I've been missing games all season but these last three or four have started to make me proud of our team, and that is a rarity this season.

Keep up the hard work lads!

It is a fact that our part time players also may have to lay down working hours ground rules to their employers...and this post really does show the sacrifices everyone connected with Alty have to consider making.....which makes a poor performance doubly upsetting when someone has foregone a day's wages as well as the usual match day costs but conversely a missed superb performance has one banging one's head on one's desk....

I'd have been a bit more flexible and said you can do saturday's till 2pm on home match day........

My first ever job was at Yates' Garden Centre (now Wyevale) and it was weekends only. I wouldn't work Saturdays when there was an Alty game which didn't make me too popular and they "let me go" after a few weeks  ;D  Can't say I was bothered...

Have to rely on being a Yankee man for my income...It'a not a lot of money but it NEVER clashes with Alty matches  :D

Because my woefully bad quality videos have been well received by everyone I am also investing my next paycheque into a pocket HD video recorder, and will look to supply highlights once I know what I'm doing with it!
