Has anyone dared to look at the possibility of staying up?

I couldnt face it and thought it a fruitless exercise...

But if you work on teams around us generally mustering a point a game and always one or two above going into freefall it would appear that our target is around 42 points from  the16 games left....i think we've got 9 points so far?.....so many ive lost count ;D

Thats 11 wins....a tall order...but looking on the optimistic side we can afford another 5 defeats....

A decent run of 11 wins from 16 should be do able?

OK so the ample lady ain't singing yet, but the cab is booked and the dressing room is ready. The orchestra is arriving and there are drinkers in the bar.

I'll be honest, I still thought there was a slim chance, but only if we picked up back to back home wins against a struggling Gloucester and last safety place Gainsborough. As you say, if that had happened we'd have been within a couple of wins of 19th with a good half of the games to play, strange as it might seem. Still a very tall order, but it would have given the team confidence for this tough run of fixtures we're in now and belief for the rest of the season. What actually transpired were two very poor performances, particularly defensively.

I had hoped that with the new management team in place we'd at least be made difficult to beat - if you've got that you've always got a chance. I suspect we will see an upturn in performances and results, but it won't enough sadly. Hope I'm wrong obviously.

With this being the 12 month anniversary of our last meaningful home victory, you'd be a brave soul to back us staying up. (I don't count on the beach aldershot and relegated welling)

I'm really hoping we can stay up ...

Next season

The good news is that the FA's step 3 reorganisation, due at the end of 2017-18, when the 3 divisions of 24 clubs each become 4 of 22, means that only 1 club will get relegated from each division with several being promoted from step 4 (I.e. Evo-Stik Div 1 North etc.).

Surely we can finish 23rd.... Can't we?

I'm sure it's just me going through all the emotions (anger, fear and denial moving to acceptance), but I almost prefer us to go down now.

Hopefully we can 'do a Leicester' or 'do a Southampton' and have some momentum when we come back up - I think struggling again at this level could do more damage in the long term.

It might be quite fun to see a few of these Evo-Stik grounds with a bit of character to them (clutching at straws now but you know what I mean!)

Its novel now and again but week in week out being goaded by some inbred from the dales who thinks a big club is anyone who's social isnt a portakabin isn't going to be fun come September when the weather starts closing in.

On the other hand there's a couple of new grounds, and a few clubs in the midlands for us southerners to see. If we're winning and enjoying the ale pitch side I can see a few big away days. Worth a thread on its own once we're down to look at best places to visit.

Can't win at home its a recipe for disaster needed minimum 4pts out of Gloucester and Gainsborough. Cannot see any higher than last place

Half a hope of finishing second bottom. Outside bet for a place in the AGM Cup??? Another season in the North with the mess we are currently in won't do us many favours. We need change.

AGM Cup prospects have faded with the news that Worcester are  to play at Evesham next season.
