Surely it won't cost that much extra to include ESPN in the package?

Sky wanted to charge me an extra £9 a month for ESPN. It was free with the sports package before the premier league got involved.

ESPN is free on Virginmedia/ntl for the whole of august, And then if you have the XL package with them you get it free like you did with Setanta for the season

Sorry to sound very negative but...

  • Will it be on both TVs, considering the main tv will be obscured by pillars from most places, for example the two booths nearest the entrance. This could create some bottlenecking round the TV
  • Will it break even? If there isn't an increase, will it cause them to wack up the prices.
  • How will the bar staff cope will more customers? I'd say we are already understaffed behind the bar, a problem which will only increase with a greater number of customers

Think we should have invested in a fruity or and IT box.

I don't really think this is a problem. The only time when you can really say the bar staff don't cope is at half time due to 100 people or so wanting serving within 5 minutes! Sky wont have any effect on this. Before and after the game the bar can be quite quiet so hopefully sky will change this. I however doubt it will make it as busy as at HT and never that amount of people wanting serving at the same time.
