They have announced £5 for adults and £3 concessions.

If you are making the trip then don't forget that kick off is 2pm! I hope that this is useful for some of you.

Torquay as our first game put this one out of reach for me, unfortunately.

Team news ahead of this afternoon's friendly against @Brightlingseafc 👀

Starting XI: Thompson, Mullarkey, Trialist, Sutton, Hannigan, Moult, Jackson, Trialist, Dinanga, Kosylo, Colclough.

Subs: Senior, Williams, Mooney, Kirby, Peers, Miller.

...so what are we thinking - Fitzpatrick at left back, possibly Pringle in that deeper role alongside Moult?

Shame not to see Berry there, assuming he's not one of the triallists - although it's a long way for triallists to travel unless they're in advanced stages of signing I suppose.

Glad to see Kosylo in No10 again and intrigued to hear how Jackson gets on as well.

5-0 Williams, Peers and Dinanga add to the tally.

First time a strikers scored in back to back games in a long time.

I know much has been said about reading into results in pre-season, but it's great to see the lads looking pretty solid and everyone seems to be chipping in - poles apart from our preparation last season.

Sounds like Dinanga and Jackson both impressed again.

Looking forward to finally checking them out for myself at Curzon Ashton this time next week.

From somebody who actually went to Brightlingsea, we deserved the win, though the margin was rather flattering.

We were all over them at the start of the game, but were only 1-0 up when Regent came back into the game, and did much better during its central portion.  They were a bit physical for a friendly; Brad Jackson went off with an injury in the first half, and I feared Ryan Colclough was going to do the same at half time, but he recovered, and scored a spectacular second goal, somewhat against the run of play. We finished off very strongly with three late goals, although, as I say, that was harsh on Brightlingsea.

The two triallists, Fitzpatrick and Pringle didn't do anything wrong, without particularly impressing either. I do like Marcus Dinanga, though.  I He seems to be an alert, intelligent player who could be the missing link we need up front, although we need to see him against teams who are not from two divisions lower.

Brightlingsea were good hosts, and seem very flattered even to have played us, while their ground indicates their rapid recent rise through the leagues with several small stands., and it was good to go somewhere we will probably never revisit (watch us go there in the Trophy, now).
