Altrincham Juniors will create a little piece of club history today when they welcome Norwegian club, Lillestrøm SK for two games to be played at Partington Sports Village.

Lillestrøm SK play in the top tier of Norwegian football (The Eliteserien) finishing 10th in the season that concluded in November.

They have been Norwegian Champions & Cup Winners on five occasions in each competition & have had current Wigan Athletic supremo, Uwe Rosler, & former Blackburn Rovers manager, Henning Berg at the helm in recent years.

Lillestrøm SK's Under-14 & Under-16 sides will take on their Altrincham Juniors counterparts, as part of a week long pre-season trip as they prepare for the start of their new season in March.During their stay in the North West they are also playing games against Stockport County & Macclesfield Town.

Following the games, everyone involved is invited back to the The J.Davidson Stadium, where a buffet will be provided & the Manchester City v Barcelona Champions League encounter will be shown on TV in The Noel White Suite, which will also be open for all Altrincham supporters.

Spectators are welcome at the games & details are as follows:-

4pm: Altrincham Under-14's v Lillestrøm SK Under 14's
5pm: Altrincham Under 16's v Lillestrøm SK Under 16's

trivia....... Bill Foulkes managed Lillestrom and his sons worked at the Bowdon Hotel and played for the hotel football team  as did Paul Higginbotham who also played for Alty . NOw there's a connection between the two clubs
not even the cult could have told you.
