I remember their third goal the best of the three, even though it was down the other end.
Still can't spot myself in that jubilant throng after our ' goal', and btw, why was Derek Hatton sat in the Alty end for that game??

Wasn't Deggsy's son on Alty's books for a while?

Ben Hatton was with us at that time but I can't remember him playing a competitive game.
-
He certainly made a substitute appearance in a home match, maybe against Vics. Other than that I'm not sure.

Ballers,
Would you believe that Ben Hatton actually made a total of four appearances as a used substitute during that 1994/95 season?
22nd November 1994: Stalybridge Celtic (H) Won 4-0 (CSC);
10th December 1994: Dover Athletic (H) Won 3-0 (GMVC);
26th December 1994: Northwich Victoria (H) Lost 1-3 (GMVC);
14th January 1995: Yeovil Town (H) Lost 1-3 (GMVC).
He went on to become the Managing Director of a digital agency called Rippleffect:

That goal should never have been disallowed
-
I must have watched 1000 live football matches and 250 on the TV and I've still never seen another goal disallowed for a foul throw.
How typical that the one I do see happens to be at White Hart Lane after a period of sustained Alty pressure v Tottenham Hotspur.
-
I remeber Gerry Francis jumping up & down near the linesman demanding it should be disallowed.
He looked VERY worried before it got chalked off.

The drinks we all had together in that pub will live in my memory for ever
Simply the best better than all the rest

Indeed, the look on the Spurs fans faces when we stormed their main boozer was priceless...until they discovered we were harmless enough.
We didn't know it was their main place...just went in the pub next to the ground as you do.

I always felt cheated because I saw the flag go up straight away and therefore never even got to celebrate before it got chalked off. If that goal had stood I reckon we were good enough to have earned a replay too.

We have discussed it many time my but same for me. It took a good 30 seconds to stop some people celebrating.
I was stood there shouting "he's flagging..he's flagging" whilst all around me people were weeping and falling over rows of seats in wild celebration!

I remember one report, the Telegraph I thingh, satingn that when the Alty 'goal' went in as one the colour went from the |Spurs players faces - they were worried!
I also remember Kingy saying that the liner must have had a very good optician as he was the only one to see a foul throw.
