If they are concerned about unfair dismissal claims then they should have purchased Employment Practices Liability insurance on the back of a Directors and Officers policy.

I suggest they do have this cover, otherwise their insurance broker needs sacking first of all. Secondly if they do have the cover, then they are simply trying emotional blackmail against the claimants.

Would imagine Torquay are flying by the seat of their pants financially, they don't get big crowds like Wrexham or Grimsby. Money will be tight thats why they are twice relegated to our league. the knock on effect of one bad result in court could tip them over
