Title: Kidderminster Match Thread
Post by: robininstockport on April 16, 2017, 05:21:24 PM
Think we'll learn a lot more about our management team tomorrow in terms of how we set up.

As there appears to be no highlights of the curzon game I dont know if their 2nd was the worse piece of officiating or goalkeeping ever.

Really hope Cyrus is back. The lb birth is a massive call. Personally id have Clee in and play a 4 5 1 system.

Not going even though I will be in Alty till mid pm.  I admit it... I cannot stomach watching us capitulate V them.

Prior to Brackley , Robbie Lawton told the sponsors lounge they would be using the remaining fixtures as an extended preseason. I will be interested to see how strong a team they select given the threat of an embarrassing trouncing. Maybe they should be charging preseason prices too.

Judging on comments after the curzon game I'd expect the same midfield three and Clee in a forward position with Evans and Lawrie. I also get the impression we'll see more of McDonald and if MD gets the job he's told him there's a chance of a contract. He's clearly told him to take the mantle of being the senior voice in the team, he mentioned his vocal performance as did radio robins.

Would be good to see us get a result, about time this bunch of shirkers started putting a shift in but of course they would do now, there's contracts to have another easy season of his happy clapping of their abilities up for grabs. Far too little too late when we're seeing a side we were above five or six games ago dance with the chance of survival. Hopefully this is the swan song of the worst squad and backroom in the clubs history.

Skipping this to save myself for Saturday's wake.

I'll be there plus 2, I hope he tries Foster and Cain.

Needs to put a strong team out really, but I don't believe he will get the gig, purely on lack of experience, not on any other front.

Key decisions coming up in next month or so, whoever gets the managers job has a major task on. we desperately need a couple of regular goal scorers along with other positions filling that have been previously mentioned.

The managers job is a big decision but the possible investment is even bigger.

I see it the other way round the right manager is the biggest factor . Then you need the investment

Lots of money in the wrong hands is pointless

We have see this all too clearly already

TTB and Wayno, yes massive month or so coming up. Hope we get both key factors sorted out with the best manager and investment.

Looking forward to heading in the write direction for a change

In no particualar order we need these sorting. Manager, Investment, Chairperson, Players.   They are all linked of course, desperately hoping we can secure these so we at least become worthy of mocking by mtfc.

Hopefully this will be Doughty's last match in charge. I'd like to think that they will appoint a new manager this week, otherwise it was pointless in having the process so early.

I wouldn't want a new manager as quickly as that

They closed to applicants last Sunday. So the new manager although not yet selected will be one of a handful. I'd get him in so he can select which players he wants to keep. He can also get around other games identidying new players

i was hoping the meeting might have slowed down that process

Bower and Boshell have signed on with BPA until 2019.

It'd make more sense to appoint a highly rated Evostik manager - someone who knows the best players to cherry-pick from that level.

They were the best side I've seen at Moss Lane this season (I missed Fylde). Bit hard to rate how we were as we chased shadows most of the game. Safe to say none of our 11 would get in their starting 11. Shows how far off the pace we been for the last 16 months.

Hmm, it wasn't great today but as far as the actual state of the teams go, 2nd place side plays relegated bottom side, so it was about par with what I expected.

The difference between two relegated clubs and how desperate they are to regain that status and the way they set themselves up how to do so however...

Very telling.

Yes, very telling. Around January 2016 or so, Kidderminster accepted they were going down and began planning for the new season, and a swift return, as a priority.

That wasn't appropriate for us last season, as we weren't doomed, but it was this year. At least Harry Cain got a run out (and I can appreciate it's better for him to be getting games in for Prescot Cables in their successful fight against relegation rather than warming our bench) alongside yet another good performance by Laurence Taylor.

THRIVING. This announcement in May best be something special.....

Presumably the managerial interviews are now over. So, do we think the new manager will be announced now  or after the Tamworth game?

I think interviews have not been concluded yet, would like to think an announcement would be made prior to the Tamworth game.

I very much doubt an announcement will be made until after all Evostick play offs have finished in case any managers participating have applied.

I would assume if there are five people to interview, you'd assume each would get one interview, which would need to be arranged at a time that suits both the person and the interviewers (likely multiple?), then time to review them against each other when all board members are available, and maybe even a second round?

I would expect that it could be a few weeks till it's made public. Especially if that manager is in employment.

Managers who are out of work tend to be so because they've failed in their last position. We really need to be looking at a manager who's in employment and with a decent record.....then we have to make him a good enough offer to tempt him away.

It will take a few more weeks and I would hope we can't announce until the season, including playoffs, is over.

I think the club would wait at least until our last game, regardless of who gets it. If its MD they will want to avoid any protests if its someone else they will want to avoid any issues with a disgruntled existing management team.

I'd really like to hope that the incoming manager has at least been involved in the playoffs this season or managing a team who are there or there abouts well beyond their expectations.

With that in mind we hopefully wont hear anything until first week of May.

Can we afford to have Rowley around to make another poor choice?

What choice have we got? I don't believe he has any intention of stepping down any time soon.
