Tonight's FA Trophy game at Leamington has been postponed & rearranged for tomorrow night (Wednesday January 6th) at 7.45pm.

Not much recovery time for the big game on Saturday!!

Not ideal, but much better than playing on Thursday.
-
Rather than again putting in the lap of the gods can't we just play it here and let them keep the proceeds
-
I wish they had told me before I got here. Can't do Wednesday as I moved things from Tuesday!!

Sinnout

Gutted, had motorhome and tea prepared ready another evening in Leamington. I cannot make tomorrow night, all the best to those that do.
-
Well, at least the BBC online forecast says it will be dry between now & kick-off time Weds in Leamington, so I suppose there is a chance the game might go ahead tomorrow night. In the past there has been a rule that after three postponements a game is switched to the other club's ground - I'm not sure whether tonight counts as a postponement or not, or whether that rule still applies. I just hope to goodness that (a) the game is played this week as we have enough midweek games coming up already & (b) we manage to win, as I for one would quite welcome a proper run in the Trophy. I'm not wildly optimistic on either of those fronts, though ...

Perish the thought, but if it's off again tomorrow, would that mean next Tuesday (12th) and the postponement of the Vanarama National game v.Wrexham?

On a previous thread some body said it would move to 16th Jan, making the run to Bognor a mid week game
-
this is a game we should not have to be playing at all,we should have put this match to bed at Moss Lane

I think that's the most likely outcome.

Perhaps so, Harold, but I thought that Leamington deserved a draw that night.
-
Not so sure they deserved the draw, but there you go , hope we can do it tomorrow.
-
Wasn't the original statement "if cancelled on Tuesday, it will be rearranged for Thursday".
If so, does that not mean if cancelled tomorrow, it will be on Thursday and only then moved to either the 12th or 16th?
-
Think of the players as well trying to juggle there jobs aorund the re arrange game

It's their fault we've got to replay the game at all!!

Latest from Leamington
"It is clear that the Leamington pitch will not be playable today (Tuesday), and the FA have agreed that the fixture can move to tomorrow evening (Wednesday 6 Jan). The club requests that any volunteers that are available this afternoon or during the day tomorrow that could help out with forking and sanding to give the fixture the best chance we can, to pitch up at the ground with a garden fork/spade. Even if only for a couple of hours, it would help the grounds staff enormously in an attempt to complete the fixture."

Doesn't sound like it will be a pleasant pitch to.play on at all. Hopefully no more injuries...

In light of our currently even more depleted 'squad', the deferral of the league fixture against Wrexham for a few weeks might actually be beneficial to us.

Has David Cameron turned up at Leamington yet in a pair of new wellington boots whilst in search of a photo opportunity?
-
Is there not a point when the FA could instruct the game to be played at Moss Lane, csc style?

More practical than Nippy Sturgeon's suede dress shoes when she turned up for some flood selfies!

Looks like it might be on tomorrow as long as there is no rain:

After three postponements I think is the norm. Considering they've obviously got a serious issue with the pitch I'm surprised they've not moved the game to another local ground like redditch, the grading for hosting a trophy tie is pretty low and there's plenty nearby. To get the trophy fixture played and save thier pitch from getting massacred tomorrow night

Better take our buckets and spades?
-
Anyone any idea when the pitch inspection is today as I don't want to go all the way again for it to be postponed again?
-
Leamington have just tweeted that there is no standing water and the game should be on
-
It's definitely on!

UPDATE - Pitch playable - volunteers still required: With work ongoing on the Phillips 66 Community St... http://bit.ly/1OO8KiB #brakes

Alty Twitter account just posted a picture of people examining the pitch. Looks a right state.
The game is still in some doubt, it would appear.

So just after 4pm they tweet game is definitely on and at 6.20 there is a beach on the corner of the pitch - that is a disgraceful disregard for travelling fans. I would be livid if I had believed there was any chance of it being on and taken a change of clothes to go straight after work again.

Looking at pics of some of that pitch it is a definite Leamington f***-up!
