First I've heard
-
Diego Costa's available! 😉
-
Interesting - wouldn't have been surprised to see him put recruitment to bed for now, but good to see he's always looking at options to improve us further.
Maybe a young lad in on loan?
-
Yes. Sounds like someone being let go at the end of the January transfer window or someone on loan.
PP knows what he's doing.
-
Its NOT a loan...we shall just have to see at 7
-
If it wasn't quite a big name there wouldnt be a build up to it so I'm guessing it is.I can only really think of Jordan Hulme .

Hope you're right Timp.

Joe Piggott left Wigan by mutual consent last week

I know this has been done to death on this forum regarding various players, I'm just not a fan of former players returning - I'd rather move on.
Also have I missed something - is it really not working out at Fylde because I thouggt he seemed to be doing OK and they've obviously invested in him...?
-
Surely Hulme is under contract at Fylde and from what I've seen he isn't doing badly.

Good spot.

I reckon this is who it’ll be. Did well for us on loan a couple of years ago.
-
Wikipedia says Piggott was born in Nantwich, so that clinches it...

He did indeed. I liked his play, I'm no judge but PP is, he knows a fair number of faces already. I'd be happy to back PP with whomever he opts for.
-
The put a smile on peoples faces quote from pp suggests hes well known
-
They seem a bit excited about this one.
Slow 23 minutes coming up...
-
2 minutes to go!
-
Piggott is a strong shout and seems like a Parky kinda signing. Let's wait and see.
-
Should have just waited 10 seconds!
Welcome back Joe and good luck.
-
Feed the Pig and he will score! 🐷🐷🐷
Welcome back Joe!!! 🙂
Great news... :)
-
great signing. welcome back and good luck

Well done Sherlock! 😉

This is more like it.
Quality signing. Been out a while so may take a few games to get up to speed.
-
We're filling the team with young, saleable assets - Senior, Mullarkey, Smith, Colclough, Mooney, Piggott - for the first time I think we'll start regularly producing Football League players.
I just hope it's with us.

All true, but youve omitted Tompson

Out of interest, was his loan spell at Stockport County in September 2019 the last time that he played a competitive game, before being sidelined by injury?

-
My take is that was his last first team game but he's been playing with the U23 side whose stats aren't shown.
Think it's fair to say he's had a few setbacks but he's done it here before.
He may take a few games to get up to speed but he's possibly the player we've needed all season.

Joe said on his interview he'd been out for over a year with ACL injury. So don't think he's played recently.

Welcome back to Alty Joe.
Enjoy your time here
-
Not too sure about the phrase; 'feed the pig and he will score'
Seriously though, welcome back Joe, glad to see you again.
-
It was the classic fan's chant & a bit of fun from his previous loan spell at our club from the Curzon Ashton away game in Feb 2019 when Joe scored a hat trick in Alty's 6-0 win that could easily have been double figures... a brilliant display & one of the best Alty performances from recent years... was a pleasure to be there that day...
He's a great signing, if stays fit... Good Luck Joe! COYR!! :)

Class chant and as he's not fat, i dont think he'll take offence

It was. We truly should have got double figures that day.

Picked up from Man City I think Steve, Shaun Goater, "Feed the Goat"
Just football banter.

Suppose goats and pigs have differing connotations.

Assume you had that honour??

I'd be surprised if joe features tomorrow, based upon recovering from ACL injury, not played much recently and had just 1 training session. Outsider for bench maybe, but depends on whom else is fully fit I guess.
