Title: Southport chairman spits his dummy
Post by: taxi Phil on November 25, 2015, 10:34:09 PM
Local journalist Ron Ellis banned from the press box. Apparently his article in the Southport Visiter in the wake of Paul Carden's sacking has ruffled a few feathers. I can't find the article unfortunately but I'm sure someone more technically competent can link it.

Here is the portchat take on it, with the article included. I thought it was a pretty harmless article to be fair.

To my mind there is absolutely nothing in the article as reproduced that would justify any action against the writer. Clapham must be paranoid.

When folk start banning sections of the media, they end up looking like a bit of a prat.

Newcastle Utd have banned the press with the exception of the mirror and Sky Sports because the rest weren't prepared to pay Mike Ashley  to have access to the PR department. As a result the Newcastle Chronicle carries news today of the exploits of City and Utd's in Europe. They also had almost a full page on who should be the next manager at Gateshead.
