Gateshead to go full time

9,000 seat purpose built stadium??
Absolutely ludicrous decision!
-
Please God no....they get 450 at home.
They will never get anymore unless its for one off big games.
-
I think their best hope this seaon was for Newcastle to nose dive down the Championship table and try to lure a few disillusioned fans on the back of a decent start to the season.
Sadly, with Newcastle top of the league their chances of attracting bumper crowds do not look good.

Apparently local sides are banned from putting up posters saying things like "when the Mags are away, why not watch us?" within a 2 mile (or something similar) radius of St. James Park so it's very difficult for them to grow the fanbase.
This won't end well.

Good Luck to them I hope they achieve their aims of getting into the football league

At the expense of which team?
They'll be bust before getting near the FL. I for one won't be putting money in their bucket when they come bleating. We don't rely on hand-outs because we're well run, why should I give my spare pennies to a team that overstretched?
-
Bit unfair that...the original need for our buckets was to pay off a debt that built up by bad management....and we asked away clubs fans to contribute
Gateshead are a nice club....with nice fans small in number but loud of heart.....it would be a shame if this goes tits up for them as seems very pedictable particularly if they go full time even if they are relegated...and what then when they don't get promoted?
They have always needed a smaller stadium that offers fans a good atmosphere for the samll numbers which willl encourage fans to stay....like runcorn should have stayed at canal st instead of creating a morgue that puts fans off.
-
Runcorn play at Witton Albion's ground and are currently at an advanced stage of getting a ground back in Runcorn :-*
-
The history of League football in the North East shows the stark past of Gateshead, South Shields, Ashington, and Durham City.
During a recession as well ? Crazy !
-
There is showing ambition or sheer stupidity. Guess which catergory this falls into. I suppose because Gateshead are showing ambition does that mean 1500 supporters are going to appear out of a genie bottle?
