Harrogate Sign Toulson

from bbc (don't know if this has been mentioned before but seems a step down for him perhaps?)

Toulson signs for Harrogate Town

Harrogate Town have signed utility player Ryan Toulson from former Blue Square Premier side Halifax Town.

The 22-year-old played 39 games for the Shaymen before joining Altrincham on loan for the last four months of last season, where he made 13 appearances.

But Town have lost the services of full-back Jamie Price, who has joined Blue Square North rivals Farsley.

"We made him a fantastic offer but we didn't want to get into a bidding war," said general manager Alan Williams.

Price, who joined Town from York City two seasons ago, has followed Mark Hume, Chris Bettney, Steve Burton and Kirk Jackson out of Wetherby Road this summer.  Jamie is a lovely lad - he always has a smile and a word for everybody

Toulson will join Danny Holland, Darren Dunning and Denny Ingram who have all re-signed for the club for next season, plus former loan striker Jamie Smith who has joined from Sheffield FC.

Toulson's former club Halifax have just transfer-listed all eight of their remaining contracted players, and their future in Unibond Division One North is still not assured.

Williams was eager to praise Price for his demeanour during his spell at Town. "He's welcome back any time he wants, he's a lovely lad.

"He'll be sadly missed, a nice bloke on the field and a nice bloke off it, always a smile and a word for everybody. We wish him all the best

good luck to him , did ok but not better than lane or battersby imo - a decent squad player and deham plys wide right  so he would have been restricted at alty i feel

I thought he was very average to be honest, just seemed to run up and down the flank.

Denham will be a vast improvement, put it that way!

Things are starting to shape up very nicely at the moment and I can't wait to see our new team play together.

Yes, technically a step down in terms of the fact that he is moving from the Blue Square Premier to the Blue Square North but certainly not a step down in terms of his ability on the evidence of his time at Alty.

Apparently, he was in our starting XI for the Cheshire Senior Cup Final.......but I still don't believe it.
