Looks like step 3 to 6 to get grants.

Step 1 to 2 will be able to apply for loans.

I wonder if the fact that the national league is so tight will actually help, must be plenty of teams thinking they have a chance of the playoffs

'"Long term low interest” loans with grants available on a case by case basis. I desperately hope it will be enough for struggling clubs. https://twitter.com/danroan/status/1354342006189907968?s=19

Assuming we don't just play on I'm hoping for a brief suspension (a month) by which time infection rates and more importantly the death rates fall significantly allowing at least some fans back to be on the agenda again.

Due to our current schedule I don't think we'll be playing again before a decision is made.

That sounds right to me.

That really is a world-beating funding system

Maybe this is naive and gullible, but the government has stated tier 1 and 2 are to be funded by either loans or if skint they can have a grant. There will be strict criteria to be satisfied before a grant is given. Remains to be seen if this brainwave is doable or not. May just be lip service but we’ll see.

The idea of Grant's for those teams in financial difficulties seems to reward those that  have managed their finances poorly over those, like Alty, who have been more careful.

I think you're spot on JD. The whole concept of grants/loans is flawed. Some clubs, let's say Chester as an example, may choose to spend a grant to lure a player away from another club with a substantial offer. The club the player is lured from may have taken a loan and not a grant. It's only a hypothetical example. Or is it?

The money provided to tiers 3 - 6 comes with guidance on what it can and cannot be used for. Buying players and even paying players wages is not allowed
