0161 928 1045 used to be the Club's phone number.

If it goes ahead I think the natural solution would be to make the 6th tier (eg conf national) regional

I was thinking this yesterday.

The definition between league and non-league should be national and regional football

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: MESSAGE FOR GRAHAM ROWLEY AND FAMILY
« on: May 01, 2016, 06:49:04 PM »
Steve, Graham came over and approached the supporters. The supporters did not spot Graham.

Anyway, I was stunned Graham came over. Not the best decision in the world. What did he expect to get? A pat on the pack and a "well, there's always next year"? A round of applause for presiding over the cock up of Griffith, severe drop in form, inability to replace players & appointment of Tolson?

The fans in the area are frustrated with a relegation that many feel could have been avoided if better key decisions had been made.

One of Graham's points was that a manager was not available (of the 42 expressions of interest) after Sinnott leaving. He also did not want to listen to other supporters who were critical of Tolson's tenure. Nor did I like the Chairman shouting for someone to take over his job. It was a no win action that was, frankly, bizarre. Grahame should be applauded for the amount of work he has done for the club over the years, but needs to learn how to handle those who are severely angered with what has happened this season. A priority needs to be getting other people in to assist at this level. Unfortunately, I work out of the country for 10 months a year.

Lets also clear something else up. There was no abuse aimed at Graham's family, although I agree some of what was said in the heat of the moment was over the top.

Back to the match. It was awful. No ideas, no communication. The sort of thing I would expect from a pre-season friendly. Braintree didnt have to get out of 2nd gear. Rankine was off the pitch as soon as the whistle went. I felt sorry for Ginnelly who showed more passion than the rest of the squad.

The most frustrating element is that the group of players could and should have been good enough to avoid relegation, given the right management.

Anyway, Neil Young looks like a good appointment. Even if he has been out of work since leaving Stockport in January.

A far more accurate account.

Positive appointment in Neil Young, fingers crossed.

We have had one of the smallest budgets in the league mate. The fact that over the last 3 season we have at some point challenged for the play offs shows we are greatly overachieving with the finances available.

Try again.

That old gem about the wages. Do you really believe it? If so there will be no sympathy when you get the begging bowl out for the umpteenth time.

The initial comments were nothing more than anyone would expect to hear in the circumstances.

Coming over was Graham's decision

Danny interjected of his own initiative and there was a right of reply to that.

There were no comments made about "family"

Maybe not a liar Steve but you need to take off your carnage visors or refrain from pretending you are imparting an even portrayal of events

We've played Macc loads of times in recent years and to be fair they've never caused any problems at County or at their place, the last couple of times they have had about 10 to 15 daft kids tucked in behind the Police but even County's hoolie types just shrug their shoulders and laugh at them. They usually bring about 500 and around 485 of them are sound and just want to support their team, I like Macc and I always stay until late for a drink, the pubs are always full of County fans with no hint of trouble, let's not tar them all with the same brush.

I don't think anyone is tarnishing with brushes.

There are about 30 zoids that appear when we play them who are an embarrassment to brain cells, everyone else have lives and dignity I'm sure.

I'm sure when you stayed late in Macc there were a fair few more of you than there would be Alty, don't forget what a difference that makes to these pack cowards.

If the games on I doubt we'll even bring 500 due to the sh!t whether. Though I guess if you guys brought that many to us you'd consider it a fantastic turnout lol.

There's a lot more we could do to promote this.

When I signed up, the bank details for the club were wrong so I had phone calls from the bank. The same happened to my girlfriend years later when I convinced her to do it.

Also, the Saturday Yankee website is never updated so you don't  know whether you have won or not.

I can understand why it is isn't more popular but think it's a good idea. Maybe we just need to make it look a bit more professional?

I must agree I forgot I was signed up for a minute
Agree with this. I initially clicked on 'No' but then I realised that I am actually signed up to it, I've just heard nothing about it for ages. It would be good if we could get back to publishing the winning combos on our website - the Yankee results page hasn't been updated this season.

Buses do not accept cash. Please use contactless payment or Oyster,

.....There you go

Yes Dave. ;D

They probably introduced no cash because they wanted to slow down the buses by using cards....

The only pubs that I frequent that take contactless are Spoons. I agree that is quicker. most however have one card machine that is usually in use and waiting to authorise. Meanwhile the rest of us wait to be served.

You've obviously never used contactless.

The whole point is that there is no authorisation, it takes one second to put your card against the reader and it is done. Zero hold up to anyone and no fannying around with trips back and forth to the till and counting out change. Add to that the idiots that take a week to get their wallet out and start counting out the right money
No I use contactless regularly and agree it is fast and efficient. Only ever seen it in Wetherspoons pubs, no other pubs that I use.

Ah, well it is in most pubs in the City right along side where there are the most cash points 😀
