Title: Senior - The New Thornley??
Post by: Nasha on November 21, 2007, 10:43:30 PM
Just got thinking then about the number of similarities these 2 have.

Both are pacy forwards (well,Rod was prior to injuries)
Both always seem to smile throughout games
Both are/were committed to the club, hence why both are well liked by fans
I mean,Chris is even going down the same route careerwise as Rod

Maybe this was why Heathcote released Rod, thinking we had a better version of him!!!

Couldn't agree more. I really like Chris' attitude; his reaction & interview after his FA Cup goals was a treat.

He's got speed, decent skill & talent, plenty of fight and he enjoys playing for Alty

Rod is an Alty legend he played with his heart when he walked out in an Alty Shirt on a Saturday, so does Chris. There are assets to the club really, if only they was more people like them.

Surely this song should be retired for Rod, a true legend! I still try and copy his celebration if i'm lucky enough to score!

Its weird seeing him on the bench for Man U/England and not being able to say he's an alty player, I miss rod!

Both were / are great assets for the club - quality players. Just hope we can keep hold of Chris Senior as his performances (and goals) will be attracting attention.

One difference is that Chris hasn't yet mastered the celebratory somersault/ flip thing that Rod does. Suggest he doesn't give it a try though as we need him fit.

Chris's somersault at Stevenage when he went over an advertising hoarding without using his hands was outstanding!!

It was featured on a Conferencefootball.tv montage of Alty at the end of last season where it was cleverly reversed to produce a very impressive visual effect.

There's only one Chris Senior,

He's 5 foot 4. and he's gonna score.
