A tough fought out game But we got there in the end 3 points was vital as I see Monday being incredibly tough to get anything
Well done up to 4 th
And a decent crowd as well as good vocal support
-
What was the attendance? I didn't hear
-
930

930
Should play all our games on Friday afternoons. 8)

with barley any away fans
-
it was absolutely electric in the golf road end second half.
hope we can keep attendances up for the remaining 3 home games.
-
Rode our luck first half but worked and worked and eventually it came.
Credit to Vauxhall who harried us all game and had a few useful players. They do well on a small budget season after season.
It's amazing what kind of noise we can make when people stop chatting loudly and get right behind the lads.
Haven't heard a roar like that for a long time.
Buzzing...

Last 2 have been better for noise god only knows why we dont always attack golf road second half decent atmospher in 2nd

This. Especially in Bsn when no away fans
-
I suspect that at least part of the reason for not attacking Golf Road in the second half might be that we have lost the toss and therefore don't get to choose?
-
really enjoyable game. Their seven posed the only real threats in my opinion as we dominated most of teh ball. I think IF we'd popped one in early on we could have had three or four today, but as it was it was a hard pressed but well deserved win. Lovely finish for the goal.
Very good atmos. in the Golf Road second half.
good day all round. congrats to the players and management.

Also have to take into account wind if there is one.
Although if there is a choice, it has to be Golf Road second half every time.

Today summed up in one image:

Great pic

Great roar from the golf road end for the goal. Great attendance - about 150-200 more than what people guessed with perhaps 20 from Vauxhall. Hope we take a good following to Chester

agreed great to win as well in front of a bigger crowd as we normally fluff our lines !
-
How un-Alty was that today ;D Looked pretty much in control throughout apart from the odd free kick into the box and even after being Alty like and missing a sitter we go on and win it ;) ::)

We must've lost the toss about 80 games running untill Worcester

Typically we'd have lost today then got a decent point Monday. Fancy at least a point now, nothing to fear.

Exactly. At some point in recent years (no idea when to be honest), we switched our default setting as it were from usually attacking the Golf Rd second half to usually attacking the Chequers. Is it perhaps to do with the entrance to the pitch from the home dressing room moving to between the main stand and family stand?
Delighted to hear we may have reverted to the old system, not just out of nostalgia but also because the Golf Rd is the home end and it makes sense to do it that way.
-
Well we started well, then laboured a bit in the first half. Second half was much better attacking the Golf Road end. Loads of possession but Reevesy and Dunc had off days.
A second successive clean sheet, partly due to a bit of luck in first half and another top performance from Stu.
Shaun had a v good match, as did James Lawrie and Danny Boshell was efficient again. Carl Rodgers looked useful today when he came on.
Big tests coming up in the next 3 games

Where did all the singers come from? Songs be started all over the Golf Road today from some unfamiliar faces, FIENDS everywhere !!!

We seem to have acquired a new group of enthusiastic lads who stand just to the right of the Golf Road. Long may that continue....

Really enjoyed the game today, both teams passed it about well but Alty were a class above a hard-working Vauxhall outfit. A lot of 5-6 pass attacking combinations which was pretty impressive I thought.
Great relief to see that cracking goal go in after Reeves' miss from a yard out at 0-0.
Would be interested to see Alty TV's highlights of that melee at the end when the away side nearly equalised - did it hit the post?
Anyway, good day out. Now back to the misery of the day job!

Good to see you again phil hope your lot stay up

Worked hard for the win today , thought Lawrie had a good game , great goal , feel confident we might get something at Chester , hope we get lots of fans down there to shout them on , come on you reds .
-
Great pic
Yes, a picture tells a thousand words.
-
The golf road end got a bit messy when we scored ::)
-
I agree with the comment about James Lawrie, I also thought he was excellent, but can I also add a bit about Luca Havern.
The guy was awesome yesterday, very assured at the back, dispossessed the opposition on many occasions, and played good balls out of defence - immense yesterday, and made a good contribution along with our other defenders to the Nil against Vauxhall. Awesome player and often under-rated.

Totally agree Steve - Luca was my man of the match.

We are beginning to show the hallmarks of a really good team. Winning when not at our best and other players stepping up when Damian and Duncan have the occasional off day. Sean, Luca and James Lawrie were brilliant yesterday, bring on Chester. If we fire on all cylinders, we have a great chance.
Chester do have an incredible home record though, the only points they have dropped were in a goalless draw with Bradford.
-
Luca and dens were our 2 best players in a decent team effort

Actually they had a 1-1 draw with BPA and 0-0 with Bratley

Excuse me if I have missed something, but why did we play in Red and Black shirts today instead of the standard Red and White stripes?

Defibfillator Fundraiser!!!!! All 17 shirts auctioned and generated over £1000.
