Now if Barnet could just string a few results together, I could quite enjoy a return to Moss Rose as well....

I remember being present at Edgeley Park to see Alty defeat Stockport County 1-0  in a Cheshire Senior Cup tie on 17th January 1976.

Possibly our last appearance on that ground?

I'd love to see this. I'll most likely be living in the USA next year and so will probably plan a trip back to coincide with this if it were to happen. Just know it'd get postponed though.

Couldn't care less about Stockport. I'll settle for a trip to Blundell Park next season.

That said, a home game v County would give us the biggest crowd I've ever seen at Moss Lane. Poor sods, badly mismanaged and to top it off Lincoln and Hereford start winning. Jebus!

Definitely.......I went to that game with Andy Buckley & Dave Callaghan of Altrincham Guardian fame. Our penultimate visit was a 3-2 defeat to Macclesfield in a Cheshire Senior Cup Semi Final in March 1973..........Dave Mobley tried a 35 yard back pass which had horrendous consequences & gifted Macc a winner after John Owens had netted an equaliser.

I was at that game (the 1-0 1976) too.  Did Micky Brooke score?

Could someone remind me of when we played New Brighton there in the CSC SF? I think we won 4-0. The progy was a team sheet which I can't seem to unearth. Possibly the same year we beat Witton 3-2 on aggregate in the 2 legged final.

I was at the 3-2 loss to Macc - was stunned by Mobleys own goal.  Also went to Lancs League match in 79/80 where we won 2-0 with Johnny Rogers getting a run out after injury.  Steve Haw scored  I think, although JR may have got both of them.

I posted a few weeks ago that their fans were singing "bring on the Alty", but also my belief that they will stay up.  I still think they willl.  It's very very close.

Mister Guru,

Far too early for Steve Haw in an Alty shirt!
