To be honest, I've always got the impression from Phil Parkinson that he feels he has received all the backing and support that is necessary from the board/chairman. Personally, I'd rather have a boss who supports me but lets me get on with my job than one who tries to micro-manage me.
Also, I think the full time "conversation" is happening as a direct consequence of the board listening to what PP wants and trying to match his ambition.

For me, it's the singing of Manchester United songs which represents my only gripe with them in all honesty. They've got a decent setup and fanbase and they travel in numbers. Fair play to them. But you're not the Busby boys. They play at Old Trafford and have a completely separate history altogether. Drop the "Man Utd" act, you don't need it!

Very much appreciate the update. I think it's important that we decide what we want to be as a club and then (hopefully) work towards it if it is viable. Speaking to other clubs seems vety sensible too. We don't want to be going into this with our eyes closed.

I am not really bothered by Salford, I'm just utterly bemused at the idea of a Conference player being paid 4 grand a week. I think it's utterly bonkers and puts a lot of pressure on them to be challenging from the outset.
That said, I can honestly say I'd be loving it if Alty were in a position to be that financially competitive and pushing for a place in the football league after years of struggling in and out of lower leagues.
