Thanks to Phil and Neil for 2 brilliant seasons up to now. Good luck to all the lads for tonight. Go out there tonight and play like we know you can!

Come on Alty!

Last time we rested a load of players for a game, it took us about a month to recover our momentum. I understand the desire to keep players fresh, but I think we ought to be very careful about making wholesale changes.

As regards home advantage, the only scenario where we could be at home in the final is if the 7th placed team gets there (assuming that we do finish 5th). Obviously, we have several hurdles to negotiate before we need to concern ourselves about that! :)

They are all one-off games and either way you toss it we would end up needing to beat either Stockport or (more probably) Chorley away from home to go up. I didn't think we'd do it in 2005 with tough away games, so I think we just need to take it as it comes. I don't think other sides fancy playing us either.

I remember playing Colwyn Bay away at Northwich in the FA Cup the year we went on to play Chester. I think they'd been barred from playing the tie in Wales for some reason, possibly politics with the Welsh FA? It's also the last occasion I can remember a tie going to more than one replay as I think it took a second replay at Moss Lane to eventually settle it.

You can have as many plans as you like, but if your best striker manages to get himself suspended for 1/5 of the season you're going to be at a considerable disadvantage. It's not the only factor, but it is a big one.

Thoughts;
Nice coverage of the hating macc town flag
Nice of Rowley not to take all the credit "I er we've managed to spread the word"....
Personally I hate the kit but almost by accident it seems to be one that captures the imagination more than a more subtle one.
Can't imagine kingy wearing it.....

The whole point, in my opinion, is that it is not meant to be subtle. It's meant to be "in your face" and it fully represents the rainbow flag, even if that is not pleasing to everyone's eye. Going forward, perhaps a more subtle representation of the flag could be incorporated into a kit, but the shirt we're wearing this Saturday serves its purpose perfectly.

Any idea on numbers sold so far, Ian? Seem to be selling them far and wide!

Would have Drench here like a shot.

I would think a big benefit of being full time is that players can recover better between games. If they have to get up and go to work every day in addition to playing football, it's not ideal.

I can't see past that pathetic dive he did against FCUM when it was easier for him to shoot. Cringeworthy!
