We'll have a higher player turnover rate than last season the way it's going!  ;D

Short is the best LB was a country mile and I think Disney will start at RB

Agreed

Short is excellent and I should think he'll start. Having said that Brownhill is actually a pretty good player as well. It's nice to have so much quality cover in certain positions

Just to confirm in case anyone decides to pop over to Atherton, the team referred to is Atherton Town FC, NOT Laburnum Rovers or Colleries. Atherton sure has a lot of teams...

What a nice feeling to be going into a new season with hope in our hearts. A squad that isn't riddled with non triers, cover in all positions and a dwindling fan base that was verging on suicidal. We now have a management team who know what is required.. I'm convinced the majority of stay away fans will return once the season gets under way..

All this and a shiny new fence for us to lean on and support our new look team.

Love it....

I was under the impression those staying away were doing so for non-footballing reasons...

I expect there will still be folks staying away the that reason. However I also think there were people staying away because of the quality of football

That's certainly the case for me and a few others too. A bit fickle, I know, but it seemed a bit futile to waste every weekend watching us get anhialted. There's plenty who are staying away because of issues with the board but it's probably a fair split

No hurry. A few will probably leave in the first few weeks of the season and perhaps one or two out in loan.

It's looking good! I really like Lewis Short who has bags of skill. Honourable mention for Tol Omitola who looks pretty fast and powerful, something we've lacked for ages.

It's Tom Peers but with so many new players you can be forgiven for that!
How did Tony Thompson do in goal or did he not have much to do?

He didn't have much to do, and was beaten only by a penalty. But...his distribution and kicking was very good and he looks the part.

My thoughts exactly

Yeah we're looking good. Kidsgrove were woeful but you can only beat what's in front of you and we passed it around nicely. This time we actually had a bit of incisiveness in the final third as well. Amis looks a little bit ponderous to me but he certainly took his goal well. We were dangerous down the right with Ben Peers playing in front of Densmore. Peers looks a clever player, he put in some interesting through balls that caused a few problems. Sam Sheridan was absolutely class, he can run and win the ball as well as pass. Laurence Taylor played the full ninety and had a good game. Very skillful and linked up well with Sheridan. Honourable mention as well to Ben Harrison who is positionally excellent. He reads the game well and also won pretty much every header.

Good for him, hope he does well there (except against us).

I'd go with taylor over moult's experience....who else is ahead of him??

Taylor has a lot of skill on the ball as demonstrated at Whitchurch, but the other night against Stockport, PP and some of the other players  were certainly getting annoyed at his poor positioning creating openings for the opposition. It's normal that as a young player he's going to have certain things to improve on. The new coaching staff will help him improve on his game, but it's going to take time. I may well be wrong but I just don't see him being picked over Moult, Richman and Sheridan when the season starts. I know that's an unfashionable opinion on here but it's what I think will happen.

Best thing would be for them to go bust. They are nothing more than a husk of a club with no ground, no fans and likely to go under one way or the other sometime soon. 1874 carry on the spirirt of the club and they will flourish even more when the original club is put out of its misery.
