Cup game on Tuesday first.
Hoping to seeing a much changed team
Exactly. Play the youth team.
Job done today.Only one maybe, it would be Short for Densmore but I would still go Densmore and Short as full backs until Disney comes back.
Back 4 were superb, don't want to see any change at all.
Big 2 games coming up
You really don't like Bembo-Leta do you?!
Athlete - yes, strength - yes, speed when he beaks a sweat - yes. Defensive positioning - no, passing - average, fouling - yes, man marking - no. I can't make my mind up completely and he will get away with his bad attributes in this league but he would mess up often in the league above!
Same starting 11 with the exception of Richman for Sheridan.
see hancock's goal was on 32 minutes,is that hancocks half hour?
I think so yes...he's very isolated i think and would be better alongside another decent forward..
I agree with stability and sticking with PP.
But lets not forget the plan is not to consolidate for a few years....we are here to bounce straight back...a cup run would have helped financially......but I'd like to see urgency and quality bits of the jigsaw being added....PP should be feeling pressure and support from the chairman.
The year we won the APL Tony sanders wasn't happy with the keeper and bought in Stepney, then he bought in Whitbread to increase our fire power......Bernard got rid of kilkcline cleghorn and dibble and bought in Coburn and ward......
reaching a play off in this crap league and a trophy semi is all well and good, PP needs to raise his game and urgency and think about high quality players like Hulme and poole and forget the evostick crack fillers.
A commanding keeper and a marauding box to box midfield colossus will be a start.....the longer this takes the more concerned I will be and less confident that we have the right man for the job....
The minimum I'd accept this season is missing out in the play offs....we are in real danger of not making the play offs with the current set up.
The chairman should be saying this to PP.....I doubt he is somehow so we still need change at the very top and hope a bit of grit will seep downwards instead of the accepting where we are and saying we all have off days....
More information coming soon, everyone, just need some confirmations and we'll be letting you all know.
We are hoping to launch our AFC Inclusion & Diversity plans to be the best in non league football
Well then, is there any remote chance of someone introducing some inclusion and diversity to the current board of directors at Altrincham FC, which comprises six white males who are all aged over 50 years...?!
Good luck with the rest of your plans for Non League Day.
We need a striker and goalkeeper. Everyone can see it, strange PP can't.We also need Simon Richman instead of Sam Sheridan.
Sheridan must be bad if Richman is a better option!
I think the first half showed the difference between him and Peers - in terms of leading the line I think he's a 'strong' communicator(!) who is always working hard to make himself available - which is more than can be said for Peers.
I'm willing to give both players plenty of time as they were both very well regarded at previous clubs, who had seen them a damn sight more regularly (out of interest this can't be said for Amis if you ask Stockport fans...)
I doubt I've seen a more one-sided half of football since the second half of the 8-0 win v Hinckley - we should have been out of sight and PP will see that as a major issue.
What a joy to watch JJ tonight - he was MoM by a country mile. Granted he'll have sterner tests (the right back will have seen him in his nightmares last night) but he fared well on the left and liked how he mixed cutting inside with reaching the byline and using his left foot. If PP starts deploying him there more regularly it'll be interesting to see how Miller fits in when he comes back.
The two full backs looked solid and in pretty decent shape (I like the look of Short, he linked well with JJ in the first half) - I don't know what's happened to Hannigan but for some reason he doesn't fill me with confidence at all.
Moult/Sheridan bossed the midfield but they had so much time on the ball it was criminal.
I like Jordan Hulme. I know there's been a bit of a mixed response on here, he looked lost v Trafford pre-season when I last saw him but it was clear he was being played out of position. He worked hard (particularly in the first half) and has a good understanding with JJ. He'll definitely come good down the middle, and from memory I don't think much of last night's poor finishing could be attributed directly to him (JJ and Moult being two big culprits). With regard to his attitude I don't think that's a bad thing - his Twitter shows he's dead into playing for us and he wears his heart on his sleeve - which given the last couple of years, is very welcome. He'll pick up the odd booking (possibly even red) and get in the opponent's faces, but like I said I don't think that's necessarily bad. At one point in the first half he was screaming at JJ for not giving him the ball - JJ was very sheepishly apologetic!
Possibly we need a new keeper ? box to box midfielder who can also create and jury out on one or two of the defenders ? Attack wise looking ok especially with Miller and Amis being due back in the near future
