We wern't at the races. With the exception of Jordan Hulme it did look like 2016 -17. Too many players being bullied, not challenging for the ball and not pressuring the opposition when they have possession. I was disgusted that sinclair spent the whole of half time chatting with his mate on the opposition but then he was the only player to have a real effort on goal. I'm glad I'm away for the next two weeks.

Who's Sinclair?

Just don't at all rate him. He is good at close range shot stopping and that is it for me.
They keep saying one of the reasons he is number 1 is because of his kicking. He kicked it out of play a few times yesterday and he was the same last season.
Love his passion but I just feel he is very hot headed and will lose us points.
As always I hope he proves me wrong.

We know what you think of Thompson but what do you reckon to Joel Bembo Leta?

I thought we put up a good showing against a fancied team.
Lots of subs causes a loss of cohesion but I fully understand the reason why we made them.
I sometimes think JJ for all of his frightening speed sometimes falls short  of an end product.

Well yeah, if he had a spot on end product he wouldn't be playing non league football!

Thought this was interesting. I remember him playing a CSC game and a friendly against Widnes under Neil Young.

Ben Elliott took both of his chances well and looks a natural finisher. Some work needed on his positional play, but looks an interesting prospect.

Dantai Gabidon looked good for an hour in the CSC game last year, where he played left wing back. Yesterday he operated very effectively as a winger on both flanks. Has good close control, decent pace, likes to take on his man. Also reads the game pretty well. BUT...he's very slightly built and needs to bulk out a little.

Both of these lads look well worth persevering with, and a loan spell further down the ladder would help to bring them on.

Hopefully that will happen. One thing I like about Parkinson is that he is very proactive in giving youth/reserve players game time and loaning them out too!

I'd be surprised if they wanted Phil. Not a dig at him - things are going well and he has done everything asked of him so far. But looking at it on paper his main achievement has been guiding us to winning a league we never should have been in the first place. Our budget was, comparatively, enormous. If we have a very successful campaign next season I imagine there will be plenty of interest, but for the time being i can't see him stepping up to the football league.

I'm slightly baffled. He wasn't any use last time. Maybe he'll fit into this set up better.

I think a lot of people were disappointed when he left. And he did play for us in the Conference Premier remember

Lawrence Taylor has signed for Trafford for next season.

New venues for me are potentially Spennymoor, Darlington, York, and Hereford. I haven't been to FCUM, and won't be doing unless it's crucial.

I may also skip three other grounds I'm not keen on : Bradford PA, Boston, and Brackley.

What's wrong with Boston??

Thomas Westall from Ramsbottom United to Altrincham

That's just one of our reserves who has been on dual reg. He's been in a few of our cup squads this season.

After the game on Wednesday I can't see Merrie or Bailey-Jones offering anything better than we have.
Merrie is lightweight and struggled when pressed and pushed.
Bailey-Jones has no pace which is strange for a 'winger'.
Harrop once again the best player on the pitch he must start.

To be honest, I thought Palma was much more impressive on the wing on Wednesday. All the more impressive given he had played and scored for Trafford the night before.

You're a bit late to the party with this post. Thought we'd signed a centre forward there!

I'd like to have Richman and Moult in at midfield with Harrop in at number 10. For me, Poole hasn't quite offered enough in the previous games and it's contributed to our underwhelming offensive play.

I know it wouldn't work because of ground grading etc but I'd love to see us use Heywood Road as an alternative venue. I suppose Trafford is a more realistic option as others have already suggested. Maybe Valley Road, Flixton's old ground could be used?
